Two-Part Batman: The Long Halloween Animated film possibly in the works?!

What DC did in Batman Ninja is also an excellent example of taking things further visually. I'm all for doing something like that, except do it in a way, in this instance, that compliments the sentimentality of the film noir, Kirby-Steranko-inspired style of Tim Sale, instead of Eastern- Anime sentimentality.
Please no 3D models for this one though. I don’t think I can handle it again...

Man, it's so hard to speculate who's voicing who, considering how many characters are in the story!

I'm not so sure two parts is needed, would prefer if they'd done it a two parter in that part one is the Long Halloween and part two is Dark Victory.

Well, I think that worked for that film as it fitted with its "tech" theme.

For THL what I'd like to see is something that is at least distinct from the previous films. For example, just like Batman: TDKR used music very much akin to that of John Carpenter's 80's work and Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay and DC Showcase:The Spectre were done in a 70's grindhouse style, TLH could do with crime mystery noir feel of films like those of Htchcock, Brian De Palma, and David Lynch. Use that sort of music by Ennio Morricone(The Untouchables, The Hateful Eight) or Angelo Badalamenti(Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks) as model for musical score. I guess you could also put it as what Batman: Mask of The Phantasm and alot of the episodes from the original animated series did, but I suppose a little more neo noir than classic 40's noir.

Wonder who’ll compose the score? Hoping for Christopher Drake!!
Yea his work on TDKR was absolutely amazing

The Arkham City score was amazing too, I wouldn’t mind getting those guys at all.

That Dark Knight Returns score is my absolute favourite, incredible, he really channeled John Carpenter and specifically Chariot of Pumpkins from Halloween III for that one.

I wish they would get him for some of the live action films.

It's really cool news that Long Halloween is coming, but I just hope they can maintain the feeling from the comic when it comes to the art. Sale's art is quite distinct.

I wonder if they might do a limited theatrical release for this one. TLH story has very cinematic elements it could probably be the most apt for theaters of all animated Batman films so far.

I'd imagine that if they were able to effectively capture Ed McGuiness' style in Public Enemies, Darwyn Cooke's in JL: New Frontier, and Frank Miller's in TDKR, Sale's shouldn't be much stretch. Now, I will say that on Gotham By Gaslight I was really hoping for it to have a stronger look to Mike Mignola's style, like The Amazing Screw-On Head animated feature did, so, here's hoping they won't skim on Sale's art here like they did Mignola's(imo).

^^Well, you have a point there. It will no matter what be very exciting to see the first pictures/trailers for this!

Struck me as odd for this to not get a mention with the other DTVs yesterday, now I'm wondering if maybe it'll be something episodic for the streaming service. Guess I'll keep an eye out.

That or it's coming out in 2021.

If this is really happening (and considering there’s been nothing worthwhile enough to bump this thread for a whole year, that’s a big “if”), this is going to be a posthumous credit for Naya Rivera.

Sweet another Batman feature, please be better than Batman hush. We need a hit like Dark Knight Returns and Gotham by Gaslight

So RTF hit it big with an 18-month lead scoop. Nice.

Sad about Naya though, if that cast list also proves to be accurate.

I really hope they at least attempt to emulate Sale's style.

Really glad this didn’t turn out to be a false rumour.
