Age of Ultron Ultron! We Would Have Words With Thee! Official Thor/Chris Hemworth Thread

How about turning this 180 degrees: back in The Avengers Thor's attack on Cap's shield was reflected. Now, that we are supposedly in Wakanda and Ultron might just got his vibranium body and reflected Thor's attack back to him.

It sounds a bit backwards compared to the scene though, since Thor first has lightning on his body and then it shoots off when he throws his arm forward.

I get what BigThor is saying about it would be very anti-climatic to reveal Thor has the power within him and not Mjolnir by having his powers stripped.

Showing he has that ability by having Ultron or a bunch of drones think they have Thor defeated without Mjolnir only for him to conjur lightning and shoot it at them is an infinitely cooler moment.

And agree with seahammer, his discomfort could simply be it is hard to control hence why he uses Mjolnir most the time.

However I still lean towards Ultron/Drone shooting him with electricity only for him to absorb it and send it back stronger. Of course it could be the very end of the movie when he has returned to Asgard as well. Just so many possibilities.

The possibilities are endless whether this is shooting it or redirecting both would be badadass.

Of course Thor shooting it himself would would be tops, but redirecting would be ok as well.

I like how Thor warns everyone yet again. Like in TA, before he fights Iron Man and says "you have no idea what you're dealing with" and "this is beyond you metal man". And what he says on the helicarrier argument as well. Now he says "you've meddled with something you don't understand". I just like his warnings because you can tell he's seen some stuff and dropping knowledge as opposed to the rest of the crew lol.

Yeah that is quite cool, it's almost like he's the big brother of the team.

Maybe Thor was dancing to yet another drenched-style dance-off but had forgotten that water contains electricity.lol

You know, the only thing that I really regret is that we couldn't switch Iron Man with Thor when it comes to having a fight with Hulk in AOU?

Not only is the setting much more better to look at, but it seems as though they have a better budget and that Whedon has gotten much better at staging big action sequences.

It sucks that Hulk's only fight with Thor had to take place where Thor couldn't use his lighting strikes or really cut loose on Hulk.

Maybe they're saving that for a World War Hulk adaptation. Especially if they don't introduce the Sentry.

Yeah after the 2nd trailer I knew this was going to become a concern.

Well the whole point of the Hulk Hulkbuster fight is the emotional impact as well as the cool visuals and action. So that doesn't bother me.

The thing is because obviously A1 showed Banner and Stark develop a good friendship then they left together, then in IM3 we saw them together, a lot of people have kind of filled in the blanks as to what they have been doing between A1 and AoU, so really it is easy storytelling because people assume they have become very close friends so them fighting hits even more.

It looks like an emotional fight just by that look Hulk gives. Some beautiful cgi.

I'm not familiar with Thor in the comics as much, but in the comics....does the fact that Thor being centuries older than most of his Avengers teammates not factor in how he treats them?

Why yes it does, he's often seen and acts as the big brother figure.

Is there any difference in time on Asgard? Not on about timezones, just generally. Is a day there equal to a day here? Has Interstellar made me think too much?

I've often thought of that too. Applied the same question to DC's Themiscyra too.

I'm not really sure, personally I've always considered them the same because of old Yggdrasil and how all the realms are connected. It wouldn't make sense for say every 1 year on Asgard is only 2 months on earth or whatever because then Thor travelling between realms would be losing months and years all over the show.

In other news In the heart of the Sea has been pushed from March to December, seemingly for award season. Good news for Hemsworth if that is the case.

Makes sense.

Well, it should be interesting to see on how the likes of Hydra and even Ultron perceive Thor.

While Thor and Hulk are considered to be the two big powerhouses of the group, Thor is the one that's more reliable for support due to the Hulk being a loose canon.

So it'd be nice to see on how the likes of Hydra and even Ultron are planning to take down Thor in AOU.

I've also noticed that Hemsworth has number 2 billing in this film as opposed to number 4 like in TA.

I hope that's a pretty good indicator of how large Thor's role will be in AOU.

I just think Hemsworth is the 3rd biggest name right now, behind Scarjo as well but for some reason she is 5th (some reason probably being the most obvious reason)

If we were to go on the billing as most important then Cheadle is above the twins, which I doubt.

Yes you got a point there, but Thor increased trailer prominence over the first films is a good sign as well.

Plus I think the top 2 highest billed actors usually have the biggest roles. Once you get past number 2 the billing order doesn't matter as much.

To me, given what we've seen of Asgard in his movies thusfar (Heimdall looking down on him in the first Thor movie and the Warriors Three leaving Asgard to bring him back, etc... Jane appears to be on Asgard/etc in TDW the same amount of time that Darcy perceives her to be gone on Earth while trying to figure out what to do), it seems like time runs pretty concurrently.... there's not a huge time differential (if any)

I just feel more confident every day that Whedon is going to show case Thor in a big way, and use him as a major player in bringing down Ultron..

I do for some reason, I suppose the trailers and being 2nd billing plays a part in it.

I felt the same before A1 though, then it turned out we'd seen most his cool moments in the trailers, same for the film in general.

Hopefully things are different this time, I'm not going to watch any tv spots, so superbowl spot and possible trailer 3 will be my last teasers and hopefully they don't blow their wad with either of those, or even in the TV spots for those people who will see all of them as well.

I don't know why you felt that way before TA, he was barely in the trailers at all.

Really? Well that means they must have a ton of confidence in the film which is of course great to hear but I'm really disappointed I'll have to wait that long to see the film. In The Heart of the Sea is one of my most anticipated films of the year. I'm also worried it will get buried by Star Wars when it releases.
