Uncanny X-Force

Apocalypse has so much history with so many characters. They cant just throw everything into this title. Remender at least acknowledged that theres something untapped with Chamber and that he has interest in eventually exploring it, but that theres no space to handle that in the first arc. He first needs to establish the core team and then theres Havok and Polaris to deal with. If and when he gets around to Chamber, I dont expect it to be till after the 2nd or 3rd arc. Cebulski also hinted that Chamber could be showing up. I think people are just going to have to wait

Don't most writers these days plan out their first year worth of arcs before launching a title? If Remender ever gets around to adding Chamber, I don't expect it'll be until after issue #12.

I personally think X-Force should be the 90's line-up (Cable, Wolfsbane, Domino, ect) with Deadpool added in.

I also think X-Factor should consist of Havok, Polaris, Multiple-Man, ect) with Juggernaut replacing Strong Guy.

I know, crazy.

Wolfsbane was never in X-Force in the 90's. You must be thinking of Feral.

Peter David's X-Factor lineup getting back together again would be a dream come true. :yay:

Yes, Feral. I always get those two mixed up. Peter Davids X-Factor was one of the best X-Books of the 90's

It really was, though I like Strong Guy in there just fine. Personally, I'd like to see them regather but with Madrox at the head still. He'd take advice from Havoc and all but that team would be fantastic if brought back together.

If Alex joins the group, Jamie loses his leadership position by default. Havok is the better leader, and he has a chip on his shoulder about wanting to prove what a good leader he is.

Yeah, Havoc would ruin the team. He should die or something.

or just be on a different team.

yep. That will be after 2 or 3 arcs will have been released.

dont say that!

As much as I like Alex, he's going to need some major redeeming in that area bc he's been made into a pathetic leader this last decade. He was pretty poor when Austen and Milligan wrote him. Emma swooped in and took control of his team and he let her. He was kinda a punk. He didnt do too well either with the Starjammers, getting captured and having his team dismantled on their first mission together. Granted I havent read much X-factor since MC, but what I was familiar with prior to that, Jamie was a much better leader than Alex has been since coming back to 616. Unfortunately Alex has been written as a joke

He was good in space. Far away from the boos**t going on on Earth, and then they decided for no reason whatsoever to bring him back. Nah, he's better off dead. Cuz first he's gonna regress, then he's gonna suck, then they'll kill him anyway in the next purge. Better to get it over with now.

I wonder what it says about him that his best material happened in another dimension...

sigh, Mutant X was probbaly the best Havok, we ever got. His early X-factor stuff was pretty good up until they had him go evil and then years later go "Sike! I was just kidding". They havent done much interesting with him since

Read the first issue and this is definetly the best X book on the market. Loved it

It was pretty awesome. I'm glad the Angel/Archangel thing is finally being addressed, and I didn't even mind Deadpool all that much (although I didn't like him either...give me time and I may be back to hating him and wishing he wasn't in this book). My only complaint is that I wasn't keen on the love triangle that seems to be forming between Warren, Betsy, and Fantomex.

How'd they address the Angel/Archangel thing?
Warren explained that being able to control his transformation isnt the same as cotnrolling Archangel. Psylocke's been helping him with his mental issues but says that she cant undo what Apocalypse did bc trying to remove it would fracture his mind. I like that there seems to be more of an internal struggle as far as Warren and hsi death look goes, something which I dont think was explored quite as it should have been in the old X-force series. I do love that they are sleeping with each other again as they used to be one of my favorite couples

Deadpool was annoying. I tried to block him out but the guy is irritating. Fantomex didnt bother me. I liked how E.V.A. was utilized

Another great moment was Psylocke knifing Logan in the head. LOL...thats always a good visual

I liked the cliffhanger ending with Apocalypse being back. Was not expecting to see him back like that [blackout]a little kid[/blackout]

That still seems ridiculous to me. He can control the transformations but acknowledges that Archangel is a total psycho killer, so if he were really serious about not letting himself go off the deep end, he'd just not transform into Archangel and stick to being his normal, feather-winged self. You know, like he whined about wanting to get back to for like 15 years between the '80s and '90s. :o

Remember that this is the same Warren who is not only willing to be part of a murder squad, but actively helped to co-found this one. Then it makes a bit more sense.

Yes, in that Warren himself is just a moral vacuum all of a sudden and this separate Archangel personality is bulls***. Still doesn't really address how he got there after struggling against his darker impulses for years. But I give up, I'll just write him off as yet another X-Man I used to like who's gone sour on me. Maybe next Nightcrawler will come back as a Satan worshiper and murder kittens for fun. :o

Maybe. Perhaps he figures he can control it better with practice and with a telepath now on his team that he trusts, that can help him deal with it, in a way he wasnt able to before? He's not completely out of control when he transforms but he can lose it if he doesnt watch himself. He does gain a significant power boost when he changes and may feel that is necessay for the missions that Xforce go on

Is the comic officially referring to his Death persona as "Archangel" and his original form as "Angel"? Because if it is, I'll be over here banging my head against the desk...

yep. Thats how it was used by Warren and Betsy and it was explained in the X-force recap at the end of the issue

:wall:

I hate that. Before Warren had the ability to switch between forms all willynilly, he still called himself Archangel when his healing powers kicked in and he stopped looking like Death.

I wish they'd address the end of The Blood of Apocalypse when the celestials came for repayment and said that Apocalypse was needed for a higher purpose(or something like that). I thought there was a lot of potential with that.

Marvel finall realizes that Deadpool is overexposed:

Alonso said, "We knew at some point the Deadpool bubble would pop, and what we've found is essentially, at this point, we have published too much Deadpool. And we're going to scale back on that. That doesn't mean we won't have 'Deadpool' monthly and 'DeadpoolMAX.' We think that those are decidedly different flavors for the reader, but at the end of the day, we realize at one point this really helped the retailers. They were really able to move these units, but now there's evidence that they can't."

Guess that shouldnt come as a surprise bc the guy has been everywhere this year getting tons of minis, oneshots, multiple ongoings, etc... In Sept, the highest ranked title with his name was at 47 with the rest 90 and below. The guy is no Wolverine and overexposing the character as much as they did was a bad idea. Theres only so much you can do a month

I say Deadpool, DeadpoolMAX, and Uncanny XF is a perfect amount of deadpool each month!:woot:

hell maybe just combine the two DP titles into one good max title
