Because no one's ever charted Borneo or Nepal?![]()
Right. Like a James Bond kind of thing.A big city could always just be the starting location, later he'd naturally end up in exotic locations.
Which is one part of Uncharted 2. I don't want the whole game to take place in a city, but I wouldn't want the whole game to take place in a mystical city out of myth, either. A couple of each with some jungles and deserts and other such locations would be cool, though.I was thinking more along the lines of Shambhala.
I hope everyone’s digging UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. It’s awesome that so many of you are already playing through the single player campaign for the second time, or even multiple times. For all of you wanting more Nathan Drake, you’re in luck – hitting the PSN today is UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra – a four episode Motion Comic – it’s an original prequel story to UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune. We’ve been working on this baby for the past year and it’s been brutal not being able to talk about it.
For those unfamiliar with them, a Motion Comic is essentially an animated comic book – you watch it like a movie. Characters move, there’s some 3D effects, and cool panel transitions. Expect some of your favorite characters and voice-actors from the UNCHARTED universe to show up throughout the story. Other than Nolan North reprising his role as Nathan Drake, I can’t announce who else shows up in the story as that’ll spoil some of the fun.
We’re launching the first episode for free to whet your appetite and the rest of the episodes will come out in November. Be on the lookout for an upcoming announcement about an awesome pack-in that we’ll include with future episodes.
Alright, enough out of me, go download the first episode and see what Drake was up to a few months before he used Elena to raise the coffin of Sir Francis Drake.
Definitely needs more Sully in U3. I missed him for the majority of U2.
I'd really love to see at least one modern city location, as Electro mentioned. Maybe they could start the game off with Drake at his home or office for once and then people--perhaps someone associated with one of the earlier games' villains--show up to kill him.
Actually, come to think of it, Drake on the run for his life would be a solid plot for U3. He's pissed off enough people so far to warrant it. A segment of the game could be Drake rushing to find Elena because he's afraid they'll try to get to him through her.
Are the motion comics available on the PS3? I heard a while ago that they only worked on the PSP...
having someone from Nate's past come back for revenge is a good idea. I think it would be fun to have someone send him on a wild goose chase all while playing head games with him"Nathan Drake must die" was one of my ideas for 3 as well. Have someone throw everything they had at Drake.
It could be about a certain artefact he's got too, that he doesn't know is actually something incredible. OR someone's after the idol from the original game, and Drake refuses to give up the location.
it's all worth it just to play through again as Doughnut Drake.t:
Did you play the first game bc he was in itI'm playing through it with the Next-Gen filter on and Naughty Dog Drake.
I haven't spoiled it for myslef, but Doughnut Drake sounds like he'd be a funny one to play as.
I think I might pick it up with the B2G1F at Best Buy that's supposed to start this coming Sunday. Or so it seems, just read it off of Joystiq.
With all the resounding critical praise that Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 has received thus far, it's good to see creative director Amy Hennig speaking up on the possibility of DLC for the game. "We're working on that now ... there will be DLC available before the end of the year," she told IndustryGamers today. Though she's not yet revealing very much on what exactly the content will entail, she did say it may include, "new maps, new characters, things like that ... some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable."
She wouldn't directly quote sales of the title thus far, but she did allow that the title is "exceeding expectations" and outselling the original game "by many, many times" -- a fact no doubt aided by the PlayStation 3's primary position among consoles on last month's NPDs. Hennig seems to embrace this head-on, referring to the confluence of events that lead to the current success of Uncharted 2 -- a hardware price drop, a handful of games being pushed back, and critical acclaim for the game -- as "serendipity." That doesn't mean the game ends in an expensive ice cream shop, right?
to be fair, look how long those took. I dont think they've ruled it out; its just not their first priorityEh, if GTA4 can give us practically new games with The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, I don't get why ND can't throw out 2 or 3 more co-op objective scenarios. U2 is selling pretty well, so they could probably justify it.

Nah, not story-based spin-offs. The idea of playing a short story mission as Elena or Chloe or Sully sounds tempting, but it'd just whet my appetite for another full Uncharted.
