Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Part 1

Alaska would be a cool place to go now that you guys mention it. I think Jamie has been clamouring for a big city (skyscrapers and such). That would be cool as well.

I'm also a bit torn. I love how each game has been it's own story, but it could be cool having this secret society trying to get Drake in the next game. Would you guys be upset if they went that way?

Even if it's the same society in the next game, the story with Marlowe is complete. So the next installment could still be standalone if they do it right.

That could be interesting especially if the head of the organization is [BLACKOUT]Drake's father[/BLACKOUT]. After playing this game, I really want to know what the heck happens to him. Even if thats not his role, I think we need to see him in the next game in some capacity.

Was Marlowe supposed to be his mother? I felt like they might have been hinting that, but I wasn't sure.

I thought they said,
she killed herself?

As for his father, yeah, I'm curious as to what happened to him. But I could totally see them working him into a story if Drake has a kid by the next one. Although with Sully acting as the Father/Mentor figure, I don't think he's all that important.

Yes his mother is dead and defiently not Marlowe.

I've always really wanted a scene in New York where Nate's being hunted down by a group much like in U3. I see it starting street level then clambering up some scaffolding and eventually having this intense rooftop chase where he's leap off of skyscrapers and hanging on for dear life at the top of the Empire State or something.

*Looks up and sees KAL's post*

Maybe I've mentioned this too much :(

Okay. I thought there was a bit of a pregnant pause before she got to the part about Drake's mom killing herself, suggesting maybe that she was lying about that. But I'm probably reading too much into the scene.

Nope. But I would like them to take on the real Atlantis too, explore the underwater world. They could have Drake in New York or some other big city in the beginning of the next game, though. I'd like that.

Yeah, looking at Nate's expression on what she was saying...it all seemed to be on the money.

Which certainly adds a tragic aspect beneath all of his wisecracks and charm. I really liked it, and how they didn't dig anymore into it either. She tossed out those facts about his past, and that's all we get.

There was alot of subtle aspects to the storytelling that you just don't see in games, because they don't think the audience (gamers) can keep up. It's nice to see it done.

They certainly piqued my interest concerning Drake's background. [BLACKOUT]What is his real name? Who are his parents? How did he end up in the orphanage? Does he really have a connection to Sir. Francis? Does Elena know about this stuff yet?[/BLACKOUT] Lots of stuff to delve into in future games.

For the next one i think Atlantis would be really interesting to see or Maybe China seeing Drake on The Great Wall or something would be really awesome or maybe even India

Also after playing through all the campaign, I didn't really notice a problem/lag issue with the aiming.

However, I did have quite a few glitches pop up at certain points. During the big escape scene, I tried to have Drake jump up and around, but instead he just stands on the sinking sand rock and just makes these awkward poses with his hands.

I missed a treasure in Chapter 12 so I replayed the level to get the extra treasure. When I got to that big pan shot of Drake climbing on the side of that skeleton of the ship, Drake wouldn't move or jump to the other rung. Instead his left leg would only twitch endlessly.

Minor nitpicks, but that's all I've really found in the gameplay.

I will say, I really love how much more free wheeling combat is this time around how you mix in the environment and other things. You can slam guys into tables or objects or push them over an edge. If you are by an object you will hit your opponent with it like a wrench, a bottle, or even a fish. I got the sturgeon trophy :D .

Yeah, that sturgeon trophy was pretty fun ;)

I love the feeling in a melee scene when one of those big guys shows up. It's like CLASSIC Indiana Jones or something, it just makes you think of that classic scene in all the best action movies where the hero has the snappy one liner or something :P

Well the third game's plot did basically rip off Last Crusade :D .

My favorite level is the airplane fight. I can't believe how it concluded. That was so much fun. I think this is what EuroGamer just doesn't get. It's like I'm literally playing through and like directing the best action adventure movie ever made. Only one pathway works blah blah blah, SHUT UP EG!

That's a really great idea!

I know exactly what you mean. :o

:awesome:

HOLY ****!!!! I am only in chapter 8. The burning castle surpasses anything that the previous games have to offer! Forget Halo, forget Gears of War. The Uncharted franchise is without a doubt the best exclusive of this generation. There is absolutely nothing else in the game world that can surpass the pure adrenaline rush that comes with a scene like the tower collapsing on top of you.

Just think Matt, the game gets even better after that chapter. Prepare yourself.

:wow: I can't wait!

In any other game series, something like running from the collapsing tower would be a cut scene. Not Uncharted. You get to play the cut scenes. I love it! :woot:

If you think thats impressive, the final chapter will amaze you beyond words

We need some sort of excitement graph that we can all chart (lol chart) on. Just so you can see us all being moderately satisfied up until Yemen and then joy just shooting off the scale.
