Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Well Halo Reach and ODST are the reason for that. There have been no Uncharted games without Drake. He is the main character of the next game as well. So it is a bit off.
Meh. Outside of playing multiplayer MAYBE four times back in 2004, I know nothing about Halo. In fact, the first time I ever read the words "Master Chief", I misread it as "Master Chef" and that's been his name to me ever since, lol.

same, haha

but yeah, even if there were spinoff uncharted games with a different protagonist, they still wouldn't call it the nathan drake collection.

but anyways, I'm hoping the delay is for their self-assurance of being able to pull off 60fps with a little extra time. doesn't matter though the important thing is we're gonna have a great game when spring next year comes around.

Uncharted Collection seems fairly likely, given ND's history of making collections.

Don't have a PS3, so the only way I can play Uc3 is if they release it on PS4 or on PSNow, neither of which has happened yet. That said, I feel like it's on its way to PSNow soon, hence my comment.
I hope you get a chance FC. It isn't UC2, but it is still a hell of a lot of fun.

Agreed I hope you get to play it flickchick. U2 is the best of the series, but U3 is just as fun as Uncharted 1. Great games still even if surpassed by U2.

:funny:

I am a big Halo fan, so it is all second nature to me. I didn't consider your situation.

it's not off seeing as how he is the protagonist of all 3 games. not saying it's gonna be called that officially definitely not but I don't see a wrong in referring to it like this either.
I think you are missing the point of using the character's name. You do that to distinguish games in the same series with different protagonist. Because there is only one main character in Uncharted, it is simply Uncharted.

yeah, Uc3 is still a phenomenal game, it just didn't top its predecessor. the graphics during the final chapter are so effing mindblowing. at the time, and even now when I watch/look at it.

I find UC1 to be great building block, with fantastic story and characters. But I always found the gameplay more then a bit frustrating. It is why I waited so long to play UC2. On the flip side, UC3 is a smooth as butter in terms of GP, even if it lacks the variety, pacing and quality set pieces of UC2.

The only good thing about that final chapter. So disappointing. :csad:

you've made your point, man. trust me, I get it. like I said, even if there were spinoff uncharted games with a different protagonist, they still probably wouldn't call it the nathan drake collection. but i don't think it's a big deal that I am.

I find the games too linear personally. I enjoy them, but I play them once, and that's pretty much it. I would like a game with a more open world approach. Which is probably why I preferred Tomb Raider, since it was somewhat open world.

For example, imagine if you could drive cars, or actually explore an entire city.

A remaster for the trilogy would look so beautiful. Just like TLOU remaster it made an already amazing looking game look just that much better.

Well said on all points.

honestly what killed the ending of the game for me...[BLACKOUT]I suppose I should put it in spoilers since some people here didn't play it yet. when nate shot down the giant genie lamp, I was expecting the genie to come out of it and THAT be the epic final boss fight of the game. instead... we don't even have one and just have a qte fight with talbot. pretty much everything else about the game (aside from the endless waves of enemies) imo was an improvement over Uc2.[/BLACKOUT]

Actually, from what I remember reading they cut Reach and ODST because they didn't have enough time. I recall them lamenting that, and saying Reach might end up being available later.

To quote 343: “I wish we could have done it all, but it would have been impossible in the timeframe we had.”

And thank God they didn't or the game would probably never work.

the remaster would also be a great way for people who never got to play uncharted on Ps3 who bought a Ps4, to jump in. although if they also use psNow it could be a bit of a confusing endeavor for 'em.

i have to admit though when fall comes around and there's both a ME and uncharted trilogy and I can't afford both (hopefully that ain't the case), I'm getting the ME trilogy.

I'd grab the Uncharted trilogy first but the ME trilogy wouldn't be far behind for me, I'd snatch it up too.

tbh, some games are great linearly, and some are great with more option. different games suit different methods/executions. but I can understand if you/someone wouldn't feel it.

however, I heard they were trying to make Uc4 a little more sandbox. tlou did it on small levels and they were expanding on that. in fact, it seems Uc4 has taken a lot of cues from tlou.

Some great stuff in U3 like
the cargo plane, the cruise ship, the flashback to Drake's younger days. Even the beginning the bar fight was cool.

yeah dude the whole game is phenomenal. AND it had splitscreen, I loved that it had that - if only it had a coop campaign mode!!! but the fact that they had a splitscreen at all was great. just the ending was lackluster.

man... what will the set pieces in Uc4 be like

I had the same exact thought. That it then ended up in a [BLACKOUT]crappy QTE segment[/BLACKOUT] never sat well with me.

The repeated use of the brutes is so annoying. As are the repetitive set pieces. UC2 has newand different set pieces that you play differently level after level. UC3 reuses the same mechanics over and over again.

you and me both pal. but no game, or story for that matter, has had an ending worse than Me3 and the ME trilogy as a whole. so there's that, aha.

brutes? are those the heavy armored guys with the shotguns? I guess I'm a bit rusty with my Uc3 memories as I didn't play through it as much as Uc2. there musta been a few more things that made people believe Uc2>Uc3.

Now compare that to Among Thieves. It just isn't close imo. UC2 have some of the best chapters/sections I have ever experienced in video games.

Chapter 5: Urban Warfare
Chapter 6: Desperate Times
Chapter 12: A Train to Catch
Chapter 13: Locomotion
Chapter 14: Tunnel Vision
Chapter 19: Siege
Chapter 20: Cat and Mouse

Everything else is great, but those are legend status for me.

The big guys you punch it out with. Every enemy faction had their own version of them. Really bad in terms common sense and gameplay. Then they used the new "chase" gameplay multiple time. It was great as [BLACKOUT]little Drake[/BLACKOUT], but then they used it at least two more times.

Did you ever play the Citadel DLC?

Did you ever play the Citadel DLC?
nope, but the whole concept behind it bothered the hell out of me. i thought it was gonna be the a big post-ending dlc... but it wasn't and there was none.
