I haven't seen the newest movie, but to be honest the only I really remember seeing was the first one when I was younger and it first came out.

I'm happy about this, but it could turn out to be wishful thinking. It may be a pre-sell move at Cannes--meaning Van Damme and Lundgren haven't signed on yet until enough money is raised to do the movie. This si what happened to Weapon when it was first announced. It was announced that Van Damme and Segal or Vinnie Jones signed on, but they actually didn't.

Although I think Weapon is on with Van Damme this summer for real...

In any case, if UniSol 4 is 100% locked for theaters, you know Van Damme and Lundgren will sign on.

Didn't Van Damme put Lundgren through a wood chipper at the end of the first Universal Soldier? How the hell would they bring him back after something like that? I mean, I know that the UniSols are supposed to be virtually unstoppable, but really. Though I must admit, the first two movies were kinda fun to watch, so seeing this one in 3D might be kinda cool.

I always really liked the original Universal Soldier. The only sequel I saw was The Return and I thought it was abysmal.

Regeneration is better and more serious and looks worthy of a theater release. IMHO.

I actually like "RegeneratioN" more than the first one, it was pretty awesome. The only thing that was lacking (despite more budget) was a little bit more "grandeur" if you know what I mean. A wittier script and so on.

I am excited for this! I hope it gets made.

They even plan on bringing the director of Regeneration back. This is some great news. Can't believe I'm excited about a dtv movie.

Regeneration was really good for DTV but I can't see this happening.

Like most people, I was a fan of the original movie and thought that all the other films prior were awful, but Regeneration was a different kettle of fish.

I was really impressed by it.

Then that doctor must be really evil. It's one thing to take a recently slain soldier and turning him into a UniSol. But to clone a living person and then kill him to make a UniSol? That's just creepy on a level I can barely even imagine.
