110 titles? I'm pretty sure Sony will have more, there will be over 500 titles at TGS this year.

Hmm, OK. They speak of filtering the image to make a 720P image a 1080P image. I guess it's easier than delaying the 1080i images to make full frames.Gammy79 said:Oh, thanks a lot.
It wasn't that though, I meant that if someone would explain to Topdog would Microsoft would not just "stretch the image" in more technically correct lingo.

"It's unfortunate that Microsoft's external HD-DVD drive will not enhance the experience at all for the gamer. Sony realizes that to truly take gaming into the next generation requires a larger data format for both games and movies. PS3 uses the Blu-ray format for gaming, giving developers 50 GB of high-definition storage on a single disc, while Microsoft's 9 GB DVD gaming format is an obstacle for storing HD content. Furthermore, Microsoft's announced HD games patch is really just a compatibility feature -- upscaling lower-resolution content does not make it Full HD (1080p), something that PS3 can do out of the box."
Danalys said:sony actually have 1080p games annouced. microsoft don't. while 720p games will be treated the same on both systems. upscaling is stretching the image. that's what upscaling means. now there are some fancy ways to stretch an image but it's still not giving you anymore pertanent visual information. now i do not discount 1080p games on the 360. but they are going to be as rare as 720p games were on the x-box. they'll be far more commen on the PS3 because it was designed with that in mind all along. Virtua tennis 3 as it stands right now, is running in 1080p on the PS3 while at 720p on the 360. there'll be lots of live arcade games availiable in 1080p i should think.
Danalys said:reports say different and you haven't seen it yourself to judge. unless you mean the average HDTV is 720p but then ofcourse you wouldn't be able to see the difference. it's like if i said they all look the same on an average tv. that doesn't mean that 720p isn't an improvement over pal or ntsc.
Danalys said:just people in the know who have claimed things before they became public knowledge before. it might have been verified in online articles by journalists who also saw both versions side by side. but i cannot remember the specifics.
