Venom now has a stand alone film, according to the studio.

Flash Thompson Agent Venom movie, make it happen Sony. Also, a Black Cat movie, make it happen Sony. As for S6, it depends on what kind of movie it is.

It's kind of sad seeing Sony go all out on this license when they simply don't have the rights to a full universe. Venom could probably sustain his own story, but the Sinister Six? Really. They're Spider-Man villains, put them in a Spider-Man film.

its an awesome time to be a comic book movie fan :)

Enjoy it while it lasts. The movement to five or more superhero releases annually with cinematic universes from Sony, FOX, WB and Marvel is going to be unsustainable, and Steven's Speilberg's vision of a studio meltdown comes ever closer to reality.

It's sad to see more comic book films!? #mindBoggled

The Sinister Six at the very least has the same potential as Ocean's 11, ableit more expensive.

Flash, why?

Brock is better. The storyline for Brock is better.

Venom is supposed to have a big grudge against Parker as a person. Venom doesn't just hate Spider-Man, he hates Peter too.

My only hope is that this time, they actually pick someone who's bigger than Parker to play Venom.

Apparently Thompson Venom is a kewl character. Very gritty. Uses guns. The concept is updated in that way.

And everyone's bigger than Garfield, so that shouldn't be hard. :D

Flash Venom is a solid character and probably the best solo Venom stuff written tbh.

Brock in the Amazing Spidey books remains my favorite though.

You know I'd be all for a Venom movie if this is a way to bring in Carnage as well than great. As far as the Sinister Six movie it will be interesting to see where they go with that.

How? Just because there are a lot of roles? That's a bit of a stretch.

It won't be Flash. The producers already confirmed it's Brock in the suit:

“It’s an Eddie Brock story. We want to be as close to the comics as possible [and] make the huge amazing movie about Eddie… He was a journalist. He had the wrong story, he got in trouble for it, he got fired. The whole essence to us for the Marvel characters is stay close to the Bible, stay close to the emotional story, and the rest is fun.”

Would love an Agent Venom movie.

It is becoming too much, too fast. They've got to stop announcing these movies so early. They're announcing them years in advance and as sequels or spinoffs to movies that haven't even been released yet. In some cases they're giving away plot details in the process.

I find it bizarre but intriguing that we're getting villain movies.

Looking forward to seeing the progress of both 'Venom' and 'Sinister Six'.

Because Flash is better and his version of Venom is more complex than the one-note "I hate Spider Man" one that came before, which gets old after awhile. You can actually do different things with Flash's Venom, which is necessary for him to have his own movie.

No, I like Flash because he's a complicate and interesting character and his Venom is something very different. But feel free to keep insulting fans of the book, you making yourself look foolishly judgmental is amusing to me.

No, that's Aunt Carnage!

I have a feeling that this will either be brilliant, especially with Goddard on board for one of them, or it will turn Spidey into the "Batman" franchise of the 2010s. By that I mean the '90s version of Batman. Think about it.

Part of me suspects we'll see Venom in 3, setting up that Venom movie Sony's been trying to do for years. I could see Oscorp being involved in Venom's creation in this continuity.

Have Amazing Spider-Man 3 be a prequel to the Venom movie. In the Venom movie, have references to Spider-Man, but not anything too big. Keep things in the dark about how he got the symbiote and play Venom like a monster in the shadows.

I am calling it right now. Norman Osborn will become Venom in TASM3. That way they will not be "repeating" the GG for a fourth time in seven movies, especially as Harry will likely be getting Norman's big scene. The symbiote falls off Norman and gets on Flash, boom Venom movie

Don't believe me? Just you watch and wait.

So they will go with journalist Brock, not Ultimate my father worked with your father Brock? Makes sense since this is the Amazing universe. However, I wouldn't mind if they went with the cancer suit thing that Ultimate had. Unless the Black Suit is originally designed to cure cancer, but Brock is still a journalist not a scientist. I think with Richard working with Connors with genetics wouldn't make sense if he also worked with Brock's father on the cure for cancer. Do scientist work on two major, separate projects like that?

I hope they're not afraid to go through a bit of a horror element. It would be great to have a tone similar to the blink episode from doctor who

I am doubtful that these (especially the Sinister Six one) will ever get off the ground. I just don't see enough people interested in seeing a film about these villains without Spider-Man to justify Sony greenlighting the budgets that these films will require. Fox couldn't get their Magneto film off the ground, and Magneto is a far more complicated and sympathetic character than any of these. I know Sony is desperate because they see Disney, Fox, and WB with these large superhero universes, but reason should prevail here. The market is way too limited for this.

I foresee these films never getting made and many of the ideas being transferred over to actual Spider-Man films featuring these villains. Maybe I'll be wrong, but that's my prediction.

The only positive thing I see about a solo Venom movie is that it will hopefully keep him out of any future Spider-Man movies...

I do believe what was being called a "Magneto" movie was [or at least became] X-MEN:FIRST CLASS - so technically that one did get made.

I think they should do some kind of amalgamation of the 616 and Ultimate clone saga and Spin-off 2 protagonists from that though I'm keeping my mind open for sinister 6 and venom
