its an awesome time to be a comic book movie fan

It's kind of sad seeing Sony go all out on this license when they simply don't have the rights to a full universe. Venom could probably sustain his own story, but the Sinister Six? Really. They're Spider-Man villains, put them in a Spider-Man film.
Flash Thompson Agent Venom movie, make it happen Sony. Also, a Black Cat movie, make it happen Sony. As for S6, it depends on what kind of movie it is.
It's sad to see more comic book films!? #mindBoggled
The Sinister Six at the very least has the same potential as Ocean's 11, ableit more expensive.
“It’s an Eddie Brock story. We want to be as close to the comics as possible [and] make the huge amazing movie about Eddie… He was a journalist. He had the wrong story, he got in trouble for it, he got fired. The whole essence to us for the Marvel characters is stay close to the Bible, stay close to the emotional story, and the rest is fun.”

Enjoy it while it lasts. The movement to five or more superhero releases annually with cinematic universes from Sony, FOX, WB and Marvel is going to be unsustainable, and Steven's Speilberg's vision of a studio meltdown comes ever closer to reality.
Flash Venom is a solid character and probably the best solo Venom stuff written tbh.
Brock in the Amazing Spidey books remains my favorite though.
Because Flash is better and his version of Venom is more complex than the one-note "I hate Spider Man" one that came before, which gets old after awhile. You can actually do different things with Flash's Venom, which is necessary for him to have his own movie.Flash, why?
Brock is better. The storyline for Brock is better.
Venom is supposed to have a big grudge against Parker as a person. Venom doesn't just hate Spider-Man, he hates Peter too.
My only hope is that this time, they actually pick someone who's bigger than Parker to play Venom.
No, I like Flash because he's a complicate and interesting character and his Venom is something very different. But feel free to keep insulting fans of the book, you making yourself look foolishly judgmental is amusing to me.Apparently Thompson Venom is a kewl character. Very gritty. Uses guns. The concept is updated in that way.
And everyone's bigger than Garfield, so that shouldn't be hard.![]()
Part of me suspects we'll see Venom in 3, setting up that Venom movie Sony's been trying to do for years. I could see Oscorp being involved in Venom's creation in this continuity.
Have Amazing Spider-Man 3 be a prequel to the Venom movie. In the Venom movie, have references to Spider-Man, but not anything too big. Keep things in the dark about how he got the symbiote and play Venom like a monster in the shadows.
I am doubtful that these (especially the Sinister Six one) will ever get off the ground. I just don't see enough people interested in seeing a film about these villains without Spider-Man to justify Sony greenlighting the budgets that these films will require. Fox couldn't get their Magneto film off the ground, and Magneto is a far more complicated and sympathetic character than any of these. I know Sony is desperate because they see Disney, Fox, and WB with these large superhero universes, but reason should prevail here. The market is way too limited for this.
I foresee these films never getting made and many of the ideas being transferred over to actual Spider-Man films featuring these villains. Maybe I'll be wrong, but that's my prediction.
