Venom Venom: The Last Dance

Yeah, first reactions are usually more positive than the full reviews, unless you're The Joker 2 lol. So take it with a grain of salt, but they all seem to agree that is better than the last 2.

Heh also saying its the best of the Venom movies is not an incredibly high bar by any stretch of the imagination. The biggest takeaway thus far is that
this movie does exactly what's expected, and it's dependent if you've been down with what Venom has been selling.

For me the 2 big reviewers that are my barometer on this are Coy Jandreau and Dan Murrell. I found that their views aligned with mine on the first 2. Coy was pretty positive but transparent on what didn't work as well and Dan still needs to see the film.

Better than the last 2 may still only mean a low 60s RT score, lol! But I don't really care about that. The first 2 entertained me. So I am excited

For this type of movie, the RT score doesn't matter, but it would greatly tickle me if this ended up Fresh on RT. I personally think it'll be Rotten because the half critics who didn't like Venom will likely be very tired of the schtick a third time around. I think the RT score may be lower than Let There Be Carnage but higher than Venom 1.

They're fun movies. The more they lean into the Tom Hardy crazyness, the better.

I absolutely agree. I just care that Tom Hardy continues to be fun and wacky.

After all the crap Avi Arad has pulled on projects as of late, I have half a mind to put all 4 movies he produced this year as number 1 Worst of the Year out of spite. Especially after Madame Web and Borderlands. It's teetering between that or Megalopolis (finally saw it).

How very mature of you.

How very mature of you.
......You didn't see Madame Web or Borderlands did you?

To be fair, I'm waiting until I see the results and replies to Venom and Kraven first. But so far, Megalopolis might just BARELY edge all 4 out shockingly.

Madame Web was at least funny bad. Borderlands was tedious and I would say the worst film of the year. Kraven I cannot see being anything other than Morbius bad. Maybe a little worse. But Venom looks legit fun.

I'm excited for Kraven and hopeful Venom 3 is as fun as the first Venom, heavily disliked Carnage.

If they course correct this universe they'll do the logical thing and have Kraven go to NY and hunt the vampire and start somewhat logically connect these characters.

The only way to properly course correct this spider-manless spider-man villain cinematic universe is to have the TVA show up and prune it

Maybe Dr. Doomlittle can show up for 2 minutes and do it himself for a measly 8 figure fee

The writing and dialogue in this movie are awful. The only decent moments come from some of Eddie and Venom's interactions. It's totally inane and nonsensical. It felt like no one was awake at the wheel of this giant tour bus.

Really awkward scenes and character interactions. Lots of setups with no payoffs. Lots of sequel baiting and references to things that never come into play and don't matter. Character motivations, actions, and behaviors that make no sense.

Also, a significant chunk of the movie literally copies Snyder's Man of Steel. Uses the same terminology and everything. It felt like no one working on this had ever seen a *GOOD* comic book movie before, or they didn't ever try watching the bad ones to know what to avoid.
