Video Camera-related Questions

I didn't really know where to put this, so I figured this would probably be the best place. Me and a couple of friends are thinking of putting together a movie, and were planning on doing it on film.
Does anybody know:
a) source/price for a 35mm video camera
b) how much can 8/16mm film be enlarged and still retain it's quality?
c) how is the quality of 8/16mm film, anyway?

I may add more stuff later.

I completely agree. I've seen some pretty amazing short amateur films done using digital DV cams and iMovie, which comes free with an Apple system. The quality they achieved was really remarkable, actually.
