BvS Villians Besides Lex Luthor

Metallo makes the most sense to me. I personally really want to see Omacs. I'd like to see Brainiac as the JL villain. I could also maybe see the Parasite.

Also another villain Batman fought that Superman could fight: Solomon Grundy anyone?

Did everyone forget the Doomsday Easter egg on the blu ray?

Metallo, very well rounded in terms of how he'll interact physically with both heroes and I like the underlying themes they could use regarding technology/society/human condition.

OMAC, Despero, or Doomsday.

What it should be : metallo
What it will be : doomsday
What i want it to be: brainiac
What it shouldn't be: bizarro and all of batman villains

I'd like to see either Brainiac, Parasite, Mongul, or Lobo. I'm probably more partial to Brainiac & Lobo, though.

I think it will be Metallo, only way I want a Batman villain us if it's a cameo to set up the new Batman.

Sounds about right. Maybe even leave the movie off with a Joker like "calling card" from Batman Begins that sends him back to Gotham for a solo mission. I really don't want to see an Avengers like think where they all just ride off into the sunset.

I think either Metallo and Lex or Doomsday and Lex are the most likely...

but also, i think Brainiac could be involved, made from that Kryptonian tech that created those mechanical arms that Superman had to fight. Brainiac could be made of the material that shows Clark in the womb.

This image from MOS is too coincidental to not suggest Brainiac. Why would three lights be in that formation in a Superman movie when everyone knows that 3 dots in that formation is Brainiac's trademark.

I don't believe it was a coincidence, and I think it serves as confirmation that if Brainiac is involved in Snyder's universe that he will be Kryptonian AI like in Superman the Animated Series.

And Smallville.

LOL Spike played Braniac?

I have to say personally I love Timm's take on Braniac being a Kryptonian AI.

Yeah so do i. Timm made Brainiac way more of a personal threat to Clark than he was as a Coluan scientist.

Could the empty capsule in the kryptonian scout ship be an explanation for Brainiac?

If they decide to abandon the prequel comic(which they could easily do), then yes.

Prequel comics are usually about as canonized as Game Boy instruction manual story blurbs so I wouldn't have a problem with them doing that.

I think Metallo should be the obvious henchman threat. Perhaps the prototype design Lex came up with to be the ultimate undercover weapon. Put any kind of synthetic (or cloned) shell around the cyber form for a powerful asset that can blend in. Perhaps the only thing standing in Lex's way to making it a reality was the power source that it required, then he gets some samples of the radioactive material that has be created from the World Engine terra forming event. Boom. Lex's tin man idea can now work.

The other threat, if I had my way, would be The Parasite. The origin could be a variation on Rudy Jones' usual creation story. Either he's a worker cleaning up the Black Zero site in Metropolis and he's exposed to some exotic, extraterrestrial substance that changes him, or maybe he's a survivor of some kind of accident at a Lexcorp. lab. You could even do something like say that when the ancient scout ship, the one had the Genesis Chamber on board, when it crashed certain Kryptonian made substances which can interact with the human genome were released into the atmosphere. Some people are now altered in such a way that they are primed for massive genetic changes under the right circumstances. Thus you have an explanation for Parasite and many other meta-gene carrying super heroes and villains. I actually am kind of against that last explanation just because I am not sure there needs to be some Unified Field Theory of Super Heroes. I would be just as happy with Parasite just being part of the new class of super criminals emerging. I think that Parasite should actually be in the background. A story Lois is following while Supes, Bats, and Lex (through Corben, natch) are knocking each other around. Like a serial murderer, he's just racking up the kills but our two heroes are busy with other things. Then when they think that it's all over and have double teamed Corben we see that the real threat was Parasite all along, now a psychotic mess because of the memories he absorbs along with his victim's life force. I really think that a Parasite that has sapped Superman of half his strength is a danger to Supes, Bats and Luthor.

The problem with Brainiac is that you'd need to waste time on his backstory, especially considering that Krypton never really focused on an AI to the extent that STAS did.

I'd actually be ok with a completely original villain. Not that that's what will likely happen but I'd be open to see it.

I dislike the Timm Brainiac origin precisely because it ties back to Krypton so intimately for Superman. Can't a superhero just fight the villain because that's his job? Isn't the Kandor backstory enough of a link to Superman's past?

I had that thought as well, but you know you'd get the people complaining "they had an entire rogues gallery to use and they created their own villain?? Goyer wahhh, Snyder wahhh".

Maybe they could do an original villain while paying homages to a rogues gallery character.

Nothing's stopping the hero from doing so, but the concern lies more with how well Brainiac is introduced. It feels jarring to cut right into Brainiac when the prequel didn't exactly show how he came into being.

Personally I've always found the Kandor story to be pretty whacky. It's like a one issue Silver Age story that never really went away.

Hah then you'd get "THAT'S not [x-character's name] they totes stole [x-character's] power and made an abomination!!!"

Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't

In a way that's one of the reasons I totally dig it. It was a silver age wacky idea that had consequences for the hero for decades, and just opened up some fun cool things for the mythos in general.

Again, the AI of Krypton idea seem... Kinda boring and again is just the same old "the hero and the villain are linked in origin" that's just old hat to me now. But that's me.

Who exactly would be complaining against the utilization of Superman's own rogues gallery? Pretty certain that's what most (if not all) of us want.
