So... who should voice him and do the motioncapture?

Hm... thats a good question. If they just going to have him say I AM GROOT and nothing more, then I'm afraid he could be considered (or viewed by the general audience) as a sort of Hulk-rip-off. Which should not be the case!

Then again, having him talk more kinda goes against his character a bit, and the fact that he only uses those three words when he talks to others is part of what makes him such a great character.

I'd rather him stick to "I am Groot!" but speak so infrequently that it's not silly. That way, we can get the awesome scenes where Rocket can understand him :D

I hope he sticks to "I am Groot". And how awesome would it be if Brian Blessed voiced him?

I'd rather he said things other than Iam Groot. I just feel it would come across as too silly if thats all he has.

The lack of dialogue is part of his charm. Having him only say it and only at pivotal moments would be a ballsy and awesome choice

Yeah, his saying nothing but "I am Groot" is part of his charm, and I'd hate to lose that. I don't want to see a contemplative Groot, a brooding Groot, or a wisecracking Groot. I want to see a Groot that says "I am Groot" every once in a while and that's it.

And of course he needs to get destroyed in the final fight only to come back as a sapling at the very end :D

You totally should have titled this "I am the Groot Thread!" :oldrazz:

I think it'd be more fun if he only says "I am Groot," too. They could actually do some neat things with that. It's all about the set-up from other characters, as well as Groot's tone and inflections.

Ah damnit, your right  Missed opportunity of the century

I wonder if they're going to pull the whole "sacrifises himself to save the team" bit that he pulls off so well.

Maple we should move on to something else.

I think the " I am..." line has potential to be iconic, if handled right.
