Visual Effects of X-Men 3

Poor Jean/Phoenix, What have they done to YOU!?! :( :(

.. anyway. Im off to see X3. laters

.............

Im speechless......

My butthole belongs to whoever found these.

Thanks for posting these, i was speachless when i saw them. What a great effect it would have been. I havent seen anything like it on any FX show, it would have been a trademark Phoenix effect. FOX have missed out on something. :(

i am almost, ALMOST crying for real guys...
First i read on the script that Zak Posted that Phoenix brightness was supposed to be like a second sun and full of flames, now i see this...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I DEMAND A NEW VERSION OF X3 WITH ALL THE PHOENIX EFFECTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :(
Phoenix's display ofpoweer was supposed to be one trillion bigger than what we saw...AND IT'S ALL ROTHMAN'S FAULT!!!!!!!!!
we could have an Oscar winner film people, OSCAR WINNER, but all we got was a ffilm with nice SFX...
im officialy depressed.

WOW, what a great find Retro, only if FOX gave more time we would have had clearly what we all wanted.

its just some lines showing that they wrote the Phoenix flames. Maybe its in the Jean/Phoenix thread...

Again, the FX, VF crew should have spent more time on Jean/Phoenix instead of this and that...but again if they had given more time as Ratner wanted but Fox wouldn't allow it, X3 could have been what should have been...

Well, from the article, I do not think that Ratner is at fault for having no Phoenix effects in the movie, although others feel differently. From the article, it sounds like he and this company planned to have the effects in it, but when the fx company realized the timeframe they were given to create this stuff, pretty sure the timeframe came from FOX, they realized they could not do it all.

So now maybe some will lay off Ratner....

And by the way .... these are sweet! Thanks Retro!

they probably were working on them but didn't finish them and couldn't make it fit into the film itself due to time contraints. DAMN YOU FOX.

I still like the scary Phoenix look much more

Well I officially hate Fox now!!! Well who knows in some distant or near future Ratner might come back to this film and do his director's cut, it will probably only happen when Fox is hard up for money so they can make more money on a re-release in HD-DVD/BlueRauy.

You're welcome as always.:)

Ratner can't be blamed for this. They just had little or know time to prepare.

I think when people see Spider-Man 3 next year they'll be wishing Sony had the right. Sony Imageworks has been working on effects for over year already!

It looks cool, but I don't think those giant waves make sense... I think that the Golden Gate sequence would've looked cooler if the sky was cloudy, though.
Well the crew fixed that problem in a second Day turned in to night in one second.:o :down

well to be honest, majority of those "phoenix effects" i actually dont like.. many dont look dark enough.. but more mystical and enchanting (basically all with pink or blue in it and the ones with the green and brown just look wayyyy too exercist like.. and not darkphoenix like...

I realized that too. I was sitting in the theatre at that part and thought, wow, it sure gets dark fast in SF! :D

i thought the wiring effects were pretty bad, looked too obvious that they were on wires.

They're concepts. They didn't have time to develop the flames thats probably why it looks like that.
