Visual Effects of X-Men 3

Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answers?

Not enough money and time.

God, I hate Rothman. I really do. :o

And Tom Rothman HAD TO get this movie released before Superman Returns, no matter what, all because of his little grudge towards Singer.

Oh please, would it have really been that much of stretch to build on the effects created for the end of X2? Saturate the colors a bit more, and it could have easily worked with what did appear in the film (I did like the ghoulish "Dark Willow from Buffy" look. Funny, 'cause Dark Willow is essentially a rip-off of the Dark Phoenix, anyway! Full Circle bee-yotches!!).

Those Phoenix effects are awesome.
I personally can't really imagine that they didn't have the time for those effects: they worked with fire before on Pyro's effects, and still had to spend time on Phoenix anyway.
I think the effect they went with in the end is effectively creepy, and I like that when Jean is going in Phoenix mode, she is backlit, making it seem her hair is on fire, but the firebird is Phoenix's signature, and is something that just couldn't be let out. :(

. . . probably budget . . . it's always the stupid budget . . .

They had time to put in that ugly transvestite arclites' shockwave! They had time to add that stupid purple haired skank teleporting through a wall! They had time to add Quill who was a USELESS, unimportant and weak piece of crap.

But no time to add in a Phoenix effect for the most important person in the movie?

**** that.

lol, good point though Phoenix effect is so more important then them.

It doesn't take that much time. :o

From what i read about Computer effects, it will probably take MONTHS in advance to render just afew minutes of firery phoenix effect on the big screen.

Alot of things were scrapped for no good reason.

I still want to know exactly why the hell Angel was planned to be in uniform and in the final battle, but instead it got cut. :o

The whole Angel and Cyclops wearing the suit promotions bothered the living crap out of me..

I don't know. I can't see this being any more expensive than the 'zombie' effect. I dont' think it would cost MILLIONS of dollars. I just think Fox is cheap as hell. And it's funny how in X2, they hinted at the fire effects...

Angel was supposed to be in a uniform at one point, but to advertise Cyclops in uniform is just adding insult to injury.

I don't know...Angel could of done A LOT MORE than flying through windows. A LOT.

Oh, I agree. He might not have been trained to fight, but it's not like all of Magneto's pawns were trained either. He could've taken out a few Brotherhood pawns. :(

So much misdirected negativity on these boards... :(

Sorry TNC. I don't know..you kinda knew that this 'negativity' was coming right? I felt it coming long before.

I just think X3 will be the most highly debated movie in the trilogy. I never thought it would be this bad. But it's not just that, but my friends don't like X3 either. I just feel, even in the real world, the people that I know don't care about X3.

Is it a reflection of what people are really thinking, not just rabid fanboys, I don't know. I do admire your 'level head' however :)

But what can you do? I dont' know.

I agree sooo much.I'd rather have Phoenix done right(or as close as it can be in the movie universe),than useless/pointless roles and cameos.Quill/kid omega? Arclight???? A Psylocke that wasnt really Psylocke???? Coal Breath guy????? Lizard Man???? Phat???? What.The.Hell? NOBODY CARES ABOUT THEM. K...end rant.

Well, now it seems that everybody know who's to blame, now that the S**T was made and we saw it with our own two eyes.

The greed and the time take place and X3 is not as a MUST as it could be because these details that were simply ignored.

Well, in the end, we fans always got ignored in so many points in the franchise. But I thought thatX3 could beat X2 in all the topics, but they just made the things more rushy than ever... Sad for us, but not for them, once the money keeps going to their pockets, despite the whole quality of the movie.

It's not just the negativity that's bothering me...It's how people are blindly blaming so many things on why the movie was the way that it was or wasn't...
