I like that cast, but I think I'd get rid of Cera. Kind of sick of him. I'd replace him with Anton Yelchin.

Thats all I have to say

Can someone please tell me where it was ever confirmed that Byrne's MoS will influence this movie?

Sounds more like wishful thinking on the part of a few fans.

It was never confirmed to my knowledge.

That's what I figured. So is it just a case of hopeful fans saying "hmm...it might be called Man of Steel...and if it is, it'll be because it's influenced by Byrne's Man of Steel?"

Quite a bit of reaching there...

i don't know about the byrne version. didn't he create the whole birthing matrix thing and have superman actually be "born" on earth, where the kents lied and claimed he was their biological child that they had during a 9month long snowstorm? elements like clark being a great reporter, not a bumbling fool, and actually going to college to study journalism would work.

i think they should just make it contemporary, and try not to look back at the donner/lester/singer movies for inspiration and a vague history. what they need to do is reboot it using the best parts of each origin they've created over the past 70+ years. let's do something we haven't seen before without bastardizing the character.

Also as for the things i'd like to see onscreen, let's highlight the fantasy/scifi elements of superman. With supes you can do things that simply wouldn't work with other heroes like this:

not advocating anything goofy, but something that's a little whimsical but really fun to see and would lead to fantastic action on the big screen.

With iron man they brought in Adi Granov, an amazing concept artist who'd worked on the Iron Man comic in the past did a great job in visulizing a more realistic look for the character. A lot of his designs were used for the film.

What concept/comic artist would you like to see brought on to help visualize the new Superman film?

My first thought is Lee Bermejo. He illustrated the Superman strip in "Wednesday's Comics" and has a more realistic take on the character than most other comic artist.

As i'd like to see more technology involved in the new film i'd also like Doug Chiang, on of the head concept artist from Star Wars Epi 1 and 2, to be brought on. He's amazing at visualizing robots.

Also whoever was the designer for Sonny in I-Robot, i think he'd bring some interesting ideas to Brainiac.

^^^^This is the stuff i want to see in the new Superman movie...Nolan...Goyer...Snyder...Make it happen :cwink:

If Brainiac does appear in the film, I'd love them to use the visuals from Superman: Brainiac that Geoff Johns did awhile back. Loved that graphic novel. :D
