there are some terrible entries this month most look very rushed, theres only 2 imo that deserve to get any votes and one of those technically broke the rules (although im sure it wasnt intentional)

They've run their course. There's not the same level of interest there was when they started.

^^Not only that, but I think we've run ourselves into the ground with the 'Movie-Verse' themes. It's not new anymore, it's not keep the attention anymore, and I think ppl are frankly sick of seeing Movie-Rogue/Phoenix, for examples, 1000times.

there are still plenty of great ideas out there for competitions, myself I'd like to see this transferred from x-manips into a forum wide manip competition in the fan art section, where one comp the theme could be something like avengers, or captwain america, and the next the justice league or batman

Oh, no, to me, I'd always participate. I haven't lost interest... Problem is I don't have much disposal of the computer, lately. (the 17th I begin university, heh) As well as I can't be in front of a flashy screen almost three full days.

I'll still do the occasional manip, but this is my last competition.

Maybe the X-Men Comps should end at 10.

It would be interesting to see if many participate in a forum-wide (non-superhero specific) comp.

Like a DC vs Marvel, etc...

A lot of those manips where posted several times and fixed then posted again until the final result. I thought that was against the rules.
As a matter of fact, whatever happened to the rules in these competitions? I mean why have rules at all? The only time someone did something about it, they got yelled at and had to un-disqualify the person. Might as well tell people they can do whatever the **** they want.

It's just a manips competition. It's not like the fate of the free world rests on us not posting first drafts. I say anybody who breaks the rules gets a reminder of the rules, but a free pass the first time (meaning that if, say, somebody tried to enter this comp without putting a new character in their manip, they'd get a chance to add the character in). If they do it again next comp or, say, post another draft in the same comp, their entry is disqualified from that competition. Simple as that. It doesn't have to be some strictly-enforced rule - just don't allow repeat offenders continuous free passes.

PS: Wasn't Angamb the only one who posted a draft? I don't think it was "a lot of them". Just one person who forgot that rule.

I didn't want to enter, I only showed a test. And then other test I did, by request of Batboy, i think. My intention wasn't to enter. But the last day, I thought about entering, just for fun, ask about it to tainted, and he accepted. No more. I don't see a problem in this competition, or the board...

Why have a farewell competition? There's nothing wrong with the competitions right now. Maybe the level of interest isn't the same as it used to be, but that doesn't mean we have to give up on the competitions. Maybe they aren't as hot as they used to be, but there's certainly not cold. We had 10 entries and 34 votes. That's not too bad. Certainly nothing to shut down over.
