I like him and his current arc having to deal with being physically disabled. My question is whether he'll be kept around as a sort of replacement Iron Man once/if Tony Stark dies/retires post-Avengers 4. (I'm betting he'll survive; they've already injured him once, so an actual death this soon afterwards might come off as being too much.)
If he's not dead I guess he might want to return in cameos here and there at least, even if he is otherwise done. He'll probably be done with the role along with RDJ
Bring on Jon Bernthal's Punisher as the new War Machine!
It's weird seeing Don Cheadle in the MCU. Seems so different than films he did over a decade ago (Traitor/Hotel Rwanda/Crash) or even the Oceans trilogy.
Could say that about most of these people, to be fair. RDJ as Iron Man? :P Anthony Hopkins is Thor's dad?!

Why waste money on cameos? Marvel can make a full on movie with Bernthal now that he made Punisher a hit. Plus him using Stark armor, dollar signs right there. Or they could use the suit in the Netflix show.
They should do it.
Iron Stark, you say some weird things. They aren't going to bring Jon Bernthal into the movies to be War Machine or make a theatrical Punisher movie.
It's probably for the best. Plus, Bernthal being War Machine makes no sense. And Stark and the other Avengers would likely not be OK with allowing something like that.
Oh sorry, I was still talking about Cheadle. All those things can become possible when Marvel choose to integrate the shows into the films which they havent yet as far as I know. If they did I think theyd start with Daredevil. I like your idea, just dont see it as likely any time soon.
Yeah, Id like to see Punisher get his hands on some tech like that. Not sure about seeing him flying around though.I don't see it anytime soon either, just think it would be cool to have the WM armor in the Netflix show down the line if the possibility of a movie is out of the question.
You not reading Punisher comics? Pretty good so far. Nick Fury sent him to "borrow" the WM armor for a mission.
They could do that for the movies or his tv show. Fury has appeared on AOS, so why not the Netflix show?

Ah, well that looks really good! I hadnt seen it before.
As cool as the Punisher/WM concept is in the comics, it would be a jump the shark moment if it were to ever happen in the MCU or on TV.
I really don't care about Don Cheadle's character in the films and I don't care for Don Cheadle in the role. He's not the Rhodey I'm familiar with. He doesn't have that take charge persona. He's just Downey's upstaged buddy. He doesn't do much for me.
You'd preferred they kept Howard?
I do wonder if say Idris Elba might have gotten the role to begin with, how things might have been? He's wasted in the Thor films. He has the looks and talent to have made WAR MACHINE a real shining star. Not knocking Cheadle, though I feel the role is underwritten.
I never cared for him until Civil War.
Pretty good read so far. IMO it would break up the monotony if Marvel ever planned to do something with the WM armor and/or if they ever though of doing another Punisher movie.
i just watched an old interview where Don Cheadle was up for the idea of a solo War Machine movie. I love his character and Don Cheadle is awesome for the role, actually better than Terrence Howard, imo.
I actually hope War Machine solo film goes through. If Black Widow is getting her own film, she made her debut in IM 2 just like Cheadle. I'm hoping War Machine gets his own spin off. You can easily throw in a side-character ppl for a team up , just like Spider-Man Homecoming had Iron Man & Thor Ragnarok had Hulk - those obviously paid off in the box office.
I can't see a film being done. Maybe a mini-series might be intriguing.i just watched an old interview where Don Cheadle was up for the idea of a solo War Machine movie. I love his character and Don Cheadle is awesome for the role, actually better than Terrence Howard, imo.
