Iron Man 3 Was the comedy too forced?

It was weird for me. It worked, but it also clashed with the tone of the movie..I can't explain it really. But I didn't dislike it.

There was only one joke in the movie that I remember flat-out not liking:

[BLACKOUT]When Tony called for his remaining suit to fight The Mandarin and it didn't work. The reason why I didn't like it is because it happened almost right after Pepper "died." I felt that wasn't the moment to make a joke, plain and simple. Meh.[/BLACKOUT]

Way too much comedy. I also hated the kid. His character was a complete waste of screentime.

None of the humor seemed forced to me. The writing was sharp and every actor right down to the kid was pitch perfect in terms of timing and delivery. The audience I saw it with had a ball with the whole movie. While I was waiting for the previous showing to end (40 minutes) I could hear the audience cracking up throughout. The pace is so fast and the dialogue is so great that I can see how a lot of it would whiz right over some peoples' heads, though.

You're not the first one to complain about that scene. It certainly hurt the climax.

I thought the humour was great. I loved how it often tended to get quite dark. And, as opposed as in The Avengers, it actually make me laugh out loud.
