I hate saying this, but Heaths death pretty much cemented TDK as a blockbuster this summer. It was going to be a top grosser, but I now without a doubt believe it will be the film to beat this summer.

As far as reshooting Heaths scenes, um... no. Why the hell would Nolan throw that gold away?

Nolan also said that he was already editing the movie encluding Heath's scenes.

I agree, but I must say that the online reaction (according to sites that measure such things) to the Iron Man ad was extraordinary. And I must say, that film looks like a real winner.

No reason that more than one film should not do well this summer. I'm also rooting for Ed Norton in The Incredible Hulk, and for the very likable Hellboy franchise. The more films of this type that do well, the greater the likelihood of quality sequels to Batman and other films.

maybe. Unfortunitely- Heath's death is getting TDK all the media coverage it can handle so I guess a Super Bowl spot wasnt needed.

while i blame the writers for that crappy dialogue, i also blame nolan for hiring fugly homely lookin katie holmes, and now....and even homlier looking gyllenhall. sad,....sad. in every batman film, there was at least one piece of delightful eye candy. but hiring these 2 godawful lookin girls to play what is already a lame part, its like a big slap in the face to us fans who want to see a good looking gorgeus woman in skintight leather or some kinda babe to enjoy.

That's what I liked about BB. Even in Bruce's party scene, you don't see any supermodels in there. Everyone looks as if they could exist in real life. And rich people aren't all eye-candy, ya know. The models in that hotel with Bruce were pretty, but not goddess-like hot either.

I thought Katie Holmes was pretty back in the day, but I never saw her act. I think I'm more annoyed by the way her mouth moves than by the way she looked, LOL. And I just saw Donnie Darko recently and Maggie's really cute in it. She doesn't look as good with makeup on (she's got that girl-next-door look), but she's not ugly.


Aaaaanyways, back to marketing talk. Fox didn't broadcast WB's 10,000BC TV spot (CTV in Canada did) so I wonder what that means. Are the spots only superexpensive if they're broadcast in the US? Could WB get a refund of sorts since they didn't use their slot? An extra $3 million could come in handy for TDK viral marketing.

I keep hearing chit-chat about Iron Man, and I like in England, where movies of this genre aren't especially popular or socially acceptable. I don't hear the same sort of talk about TDK- despite Heath's death. I think the viral marketing et al so far have been largely preaching to the converted- it's time to increase the pace.

But in America I hear more about TDK....well sorry I don't represent America lol, but my town people seem more talkative of TDK then Iron Man. I think Spidey 3 left a lot with a sour taste in their mouth for Marvel. But just in the general public kinda people I know they know of TDK and sound excited for it.

I Am Legend was huge in the US, even though I did not like it. But still the trailer for TDK was seen by a huge chunk of movie goers here. But I do agree time to kick the marketing into full gear, I have a feeling in March that will be so.
