Every poster seem to have a new suggestion for the character. Why?
Aren't Zeta-Jones or Connelly good enough?

Because I don't think they are the ONLY two qualified actresses for the job. It's interesting that they are your top choices as I find their acting styles very different. Both women are very qualified and accomplished, but they would each approach the role and deliver a unique portrayal of the character based on their interpretation and acting style. But as with the casting of any role, there will be a myriad of choices that could possibly fit the criteria. I enjoy seeing the viable candidates because every fan sees something different in the choice(s) they have picked and ultimately who will be chosen for the role.

I'd add Famke Janssen and Jennifer Connelly to that list for good measure but yes I agree any of those women would be fantastic.

Connelly looks like a dark haired Amy Adams to me.

My main thing with Hippolyta is I hope WB casts a youngish actress around Gal's age. In most runs, the Amazons are eternally youthful so having a middle-aged or elderly actress play Diana's mother doesn't play well, at least for me.

I think Angelina Jolie would be idea in that scenario but I want her more for CW in the reboot.

She's almost 50. By the time they make the solo WW movie or the sequel to BvS, she'll be in her mid-50s at least..

She'll be all botoxed up and won't look good.

Lena Headey is a bad choice imo because of the way they cast Diana. You have to cast the Amazons/Hippolyta accordingly.

Why would Diana be the only one to have that accent on Themyscira? I'd imagine that she speaks the way she does because the people around here speak the same way... On Krypton there were different accents, on Themyscira i suppose there could be different accents too, but I'd imagine Hippolyta would at least speak similarly to her daughter.

Looking through this thread I'm going to revert back to one of my favorites for the role of Hippolyta:

Rachel Weisz is stunning!! She is so regal looking at age 44 (and standing 5' 7"). She has a very impressive resume and is no stranger to action roles!

I fully agree. But Queen Hippolyta is the one I'm truly hoping for! She is the PERFECT combination of beauty and brains!!
