this is hilary rhoda. i brought her up some time ago before gadot's casting. she's recently signed to UTA to get her acting career started. anyway, I'd like to see her get cast even as some random amazon. though, people will probably end up talking about the ww looking chick who isn't wonder woman.

Don't you put that evil on me, green.

:p

Are you saying this just to be backwards?

I'm saying it because despite all her years in the biz, when has she ever even remotely given off the whiff of either authority, wisdom, or a regal nature such a role requires in any other part she has played? And don't give me that usual "they're called actors" bit. You and I both well know that argument has it's limits. I can't even remember if Jen has ever even done any kind of accents or the like in her roles. I like Jen fine. DARK CITY is one of my faves. That being said... She's always been a surface actress to me that has coasted on her looks and I believe that her body of work backs me up on this. I remember when she first came on the scene lo' those many years ago, and even then... She's at best decent, with a limited range and I dare say her LOOK causes both fans and those that often miscast her in things to project a depth that is just not there in terms of her performances. But that's besides the point for the role of WW's mother. I just can't see her as a tough as nails yet wise mentor figure. I just can't and that sort of hurdle is the minimum the role requires, and none of those are terms I would use to describe ANY role Jennifer has played.

Jennifer Connelly is my choice because she and Gal look like they could actually be related.

No matter what other actresses come to my mind, I can't get away from the thought of Connelly as Hippolyta. I want them to just go ahead & cast her in the role and announce it already. haha

No Krypton just... no. Watch Requiem for a Dream her, Jared Leto, and Marlon Wayans (yes you heard me right one of the Wayans bros.) give Oscar worthy performances. Hers specifically is heartbreaking. She is a fine actress and even if she weren't we don't need Meryl Streep for a supporting role in a comic book movie.:o :oldrazz:

Well... The numbered jaymes IS always right. ;)

But for reals... I just don't see it. Especially the voice. Whomever is cast doesn't have to sound like her, but I can't see Jen giving off that air of authority or strength that Madsen did as Hippolyta in the DTV. Jen's good as a nurturer or a love interest. Warrior Queen? Brothaman, I remain quite skeptical.

^Is this cuz she's playing Jor-el's wife in NOAH?

I don't mean to be the shriveled peice of fruit in your peach cobbler kemosabe... I'm not tryin' to be the dead squirrel under the floor board of your hunting shack... But I just can't see it. Especially if in any capacity Hippolyta has any action sequences in a solo film.

She certainly looks the part and has a look of maturity yet still beautiful. Haven't seen any of her work though.

:ninja: How do you know.

Carla Gugino for Queen Hippolyta
Age: 42
Height: 5' 5"

Amazing actress! Beautiful, talented and demonstrates a range of skills. She has worked with Snyder twice and is no stranger to comic book/action roles!

Kelex_MoS.png

she already voiced kelex in the first movie.

She's not close to being my ideal, but.... Yeah, nobody is going to care that she voiced a robot in MOS if she got the role.
