The problem with trying to match Gal's accent is it takes out of alot of the best actresses in Hollywood, at least based on their own natural accent. There would be some who could pull off sounding more like Gal. To try to match Gal's accent with actresses that naturally speak similarly does limit the pool of established actors though.

Monica Bellucci is too old IMO. I think people don't realize how much she's aged over the last few years. She doesn't look like you remember. This is what she looks like now...

As I said earlier, I think they should go with someone younger or at least someone that's aged well, unfortunately for Bellucci I don't think she has. The characters aren't supposed to age or at least not as fast as a normal person according to what I know about the Amazon's (correct me if I'm wrong, again, not a huge Wonder Woman fan), I'd prefer they go with the older sister look like I said before.

Part of the beauty of the Gadot casting is that they did look outside of the normal Hollywood circle. They are a lot of great actress out there and if they choose to with a 30, 40 or 50 Hippolyta would be great.

I'm not saying I have a problem with it, I was just mentioning that it would limit them going after established stars. I'm sure they can find good actresses with natural accents similar to Gal's but it does cancel out some of the best actresses. Everyone wants to see great acting, that's my only point. I even mentioned a couple relatively unknown actresses for Hippolyta that have accents that at least don't clash with Gal's in my post earlier.

As for age, as I said, I was under the impression that the Amazon's age slowly or not at all, that's why I'd prefer they go for an older sister look. If they go older I won't complain. Just get good actresses, that's the biggest thing.

I think the casting of Hippolyta will Tell so much about what they are doing with Wonder Woman and I wasn't trying pick a fight or anything, but I can see us getting surprised again.

Re-posting this from earlier pages...if we do feel strongly that Snyder will cast 'out the box' and that we also want an actress with a pronounced accent then I would go with:

Silvia Colloca

An Italian actress who is 36 years old and stands 5' 7". Her most popular role to date was that of the lead Vampire Verona in 'Van Helsing'. Snyder considered her for the role of Queen Gorgo in '300' so she is not completely off his radar!!

The more I think about it the more I believe Lena Headey would be perfect as Queen Hippolyta, tattoos and all. :D

Yeah, Headey would be perfect. It might feel like typecasting, but who gives a crap? She'd be great.

I don't know, sometimes when a choice is completely perfect you get people saying "it's not outside of the box enough" which is kind of annoying. What is wrong with knowing right away that an actor or actress will pull off a role flawlessly?

And then when they DO go "outside the box," people complain about the choices "not being right for the role" and then proceed to list the people that they think ARE right, and they tend to be the "obvious" choices. Case in point, slamming Jesse Eisenberg and saying that Bryan Cranston, or Jon Hamm, etc would be better. Slamming Gal Gadot, then listing people like Gina Carano or Emily Blunt. So if you're a casting guy, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I have no doubt in my mind on any of the casting for the film, Eisenberg will rule as Lex. Snyder's casting is always for the part, not for the 'biggest name I can get'.

Maybe it's my computer but I find it hard to focus on your font and tend to glance over posts. The font is a little harder to read for me. Might by my HP?

I was the first to suggest Lena and found it odd that there would be pushback because someone is too much in the wheelhouse. When I suggested Diane Lane for Martha Kent a few years back people thought it was too outside the box. :D Indeed being a casting director must be rough at times ;)

Remember when somebody suggested Eisenberg as Lex a few year ago?

That young man was too afraid to return :o

We all did lol

Nearly all of us thought he would have made a good Jimmy :lmao:
But somebody ACTUALLY suggested him for Lex...unbelievable :D

Yeah but they probably did it to create reactions from posters here. They thought they were trolling and it didn't work out, cause he ended up cast for real :D

Spookier things have happened, I found a post where someone suggest Hemsworth for Thor back in 06

I remember a lot of people suggesting Hemsworth for a multitude of superhero films after his small but heroic part in Star Trek. That came out in 2009, so finding a 2006 suggestion is pretty surprising though cause he hadn't done any movies by then. Just a few tv show parts.

I'm pretty sure when I said I liked the suggestion I credited you as being the first one to bring up Lena. Are you advertising the fact that you made the suggestion  If so, what is the point? She hasn't been cast officially yet. Just wondering, please don't take offense.

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrm cause it's nice to have credit on a good idea
