We MIGHT have a Justice League Director...

Interesting.....VERY interesting!

I actually think Miller may be a better overall choice then the previously rumoured Wolfgang Petersen.

Hmmmm.....if it is him....then WB's must have liked his vision....
You can't really count DeepThroatWB's posts as rumors when theres nothing for the rumor to go on.

Regardless....if WB's goes with this....do you think it will replace Singers SR sequel? It sure looking like it might.....

Wolfgang Petersen is steady and reliable and usually turns out decent 3 star films (expect for Poseidon which was terrible, and Das Boot and In the Line of Fire which were great), but George Miller is really talented and could make JLA into something special. I hope it's true that he's being lined up to take the helm.

I haven't seen any of Petersen's films so I don't know. I liked "Happy Feet" and he should do good with a JLA flick as long as the script's good. And I mean Oscar-worthy good. This should be the ****ing "Godfather" of comic book/superhero flicks.

I doubt it's true and that we'll have a director lined up this early in the game, but whatever.

I've been wrong before.

The casting process is going to be ugly as hell on the net. :woot:

Oh how right you are. Every fanboy is going to watch every DVD they own and make up a full cast description. I can't wait!

Hell, I'm already thinking about who I'd cast.

When exactly do they plan on making this Justice League movie?

it'll be 5-10 years before a frame of this movie is even shot.

I wish WB would do something. This bits and pieces here and there is annoying. As for this Happy Feet(great movie) guy, what else has he done? I don't know how the process works with animation as opposed to live action, but I'm concerned if the guy hasn't done anything else.

Eh, one could dream.

Mad Max?

BABE!? IM IN! so much more then wolfgang petersen, bleh

Um yeah.... Hello? Mad Max! The freaking Road Warrior! What the hell is this Happy Feet movie you speak of?

5-10 years? Dude, I am going to laugh at you so hard if this is confirmed true and it is in fast track and is filming next year. As a matter of fact, I am going to something I should have done with all the stuff said and then later denied during SR's production. I am going to save not only the text of these posts, but the links to the site so that when you guys deny ever saying this stuf, I can quickly have access to your exact words and the exact link to your post that you said it in.

The live action films he's directed are the Mad Max trilogy, The Witches of Eastwick and Lorenzo's Oil.

Happy Feet is the only movie I have ever seriously contemplated walking out on...that movie made absolutely ZERO sense and was not entertaining in the slightest.

Now...the only way I can see this seriously getting off the ground is,

#1: Do a JLA film INSTEAD of a Superman Returns sequel.

#2: Only have Christian Bale do a cameo as Bruce Wayne/Batman. I don't see how he'd be up for doing this right after TDK knowing that there is still a 3rd Batman film to be made. Let him cameo in the first JLA and be full on in a possible sequel.

#3: Keep Routh as Superman.

Oh SNAP. I didn't realize Latino Review had reported this. They're generally spot-on with their WB news. Anyway, for those interested:

George Miller has a higher average imdb director rating for any upcoming* Superhero film director, at 7.5, only person higher is Edgar Wright who only has done 2 films anyway.

*by that I mean, ones that haven't directed a superhero film before, like Jon Faverau, Lexi Alexander, etc...

A man who has, in the last ten years, directed only Happy Feet and Babe? God, I just... I can't believe this. I can't take this goddamn crap anymore. What is it with these morons at Warner Bros.? When will they figure it out? When are they going to get it through their bloody skulls that these properties are not jokes?

Shawn Levy on the Flash, and now this? And who knows, that Jack Black Green Lantern crap could make a comeback, the way things are going. How is it that they haven't learned? Haven't their repeated failures taught them anything? Haven't they figured out that these movies are successful when they are taken seriously? How many goddamn Batman & Robins do these guys have to produce before it sinks in? How many more of our characters do they have to ruin?

Since you felt the need to copy and paste your post from the batman forums, I'll also copy and paste my response as well:

That's like saying Robert Rodriguez was wrong for Sin City just because he also did the Spy Kids films. The mark of a good director, just like a good actor, is their range. A director is allowed to do kiddy movies if he wants, but that doesn't mean that he's a bad director, or that that's all he's capable of. Judging by this guy's average rating on IMDB he IS a good director, so don't even try to lower him into the same league as Shawn Levy.

So yes, guy's a good director. Does that mean the JLA film will be good? Not necessarily, but he's got as much of a chance as anyone else.
