Next week can't come fast enough for me I am so looking forward to this book.
Rebooted OYL IMO and everything afterwards has been a mess for the DCU as a whole expect 52. I am really surprise I am saying this too givne how much I liked Johns Superman run. What do you mean? You think they should've switched to graphic novel formats for everything or rebooted everything again?
IGN's review of Superman Earth One: http://comics.ign.com/articles/112/1129376p1.html
Not a promising one...
They did it back in the '70s and '80s. Not sure why they stopped. Some of those OGNs were really good.I really like the idea of original graphic novels that have their own complete stories. I really wish Marvel would jump on that boat.
Been looking forward to this since I saw the cover art and heard the little description they gave about it, still am.IGN gave it a 4.5 but readers gave it a 9.5
Less than a week away!
but damn, they say smallville is better than this? that's harsh, man!
I'm passing on it because I'm just not particularly interested. I've read so many Superman origins at this point that I would rather poke myself in the eyes with pepper-spray-coated sewing needles rather than read another one. His world exploded, his parents saved him, he was raised by good, salt-of-the-earth folks on a farm, he became a reporter in a great metropolitan city and the greatest hero of all time. Done. Go from there.
In this case, since it's a whole new continuity, I'm sure they just wanted to start at the beginning. It's a valid reason. It doesn't make me more interested in reading yet another Superman origin at all, but it is a valid reason.Pretty much. I really don't understand why they see the need to keep revising. I guess some writers see it as the 'big mark' on comics, but eh.
