Oh, crikey ... let me see how I can answer this.

Well, for starters, I cannot officially confirm or deny who is playing the Silver Surfer. I know, I know, Hollywood Reporter says so, so it MUST be true, huh - but until I get some kind of official confirmation one way or the other, I'm sayin' nuttin', and that's just the way it has to be. Bear with me, okay?

Now, as for the voice - and on this one it merely has to be an educated guess, so please don't quote this as gospel, all right? The studio really only has two choices, which don't have to be made really until the film is in post.

1. Let the actor playing the role do the voice.

2. Get some so-called A-List actor to do it.

They can make up their minds when the film is well into the editing phase, and they can see how SS appears on screen, and then decide what they want to do.

Now, as an example, in HELLBOY Doug knew that the suits had a celeb voice in mind for Abe Sapien, but he threw his name in the hat, and he beat off Kevin Spacey among others, until it was only Doug and David Hyde Pierce left. Doug's looping session at Skywalker Ranch went beautifully and everyone loved the voice - but the suits ultimately 'played it safe' by casting a celeb. Doug has subsequently done Abe's voice in the HB Animated films and will also voice Abe in the HELLBOY sequel. Soooo ... I would think that the same situation will occur here, and the actor playing SS will get a good shot at the voice. That's my choice, hands down. But who knows what lurks in the minds of studio suits?

I have a feeling since GDT wouldn't budge about casting Ron Perlman in the role of Hellboy (they cut his budget by some heafty amount too), they wanted a 'A list' name they could advertise the snot out of. Too bad it blew up in their faces. *snicker*

SS is going to look phenominal! After how great The Lord of the Rings and King Kong looked, this is just a major step up for the film franchise.

Hopefully the second movie will erase the crappy first one. Where did they get their info? Doesn't say. Has Fox come out to confirm or deny Doug Jones as SS? No. Does this lack of official information smack of studio crapola? YES.

Firstly. You could have just said yes.

Further more. The fact you think The Hollywood Reporter. A hollywood trade magazine that is usually never false and actually supplised us with almost all the set reports for the first FF is false and as unreliable as AICN(which really is infact more reliable than unreliable but the site sucks so **** it to hell I'm not defending it) is hilarious. And kind of cute. Also that was more than just the hollywood reporter just saying something. That was in some ways a press release. Just not a huge one. And let's just throw away Tim Story and Kevin Fiege's quotes. The hell with them.
