Days of Future Past What about the music?

Magneto's theme was the best, especially that little riff effect they used at the very end when he walks inside Emma's cell.

It reminds of a sound effect I once heard in an X-Men video game...

The music was awesome but I would love to have heard the theme to the '90s cartoon if that's legally possible in a sequel. Even X2's theme would have had a nice continuity to it.

Loved it though especially when the fury of Magneto was truly unleashed. Epic.

Just got the soundtrack. It's so wonderful. Very powerful, very engaging.

The song that was playing durring the montage of Charles and Erik traveling around meeting up with mutants through me for a loop because I first heard it as a sample in a Gnarls Barkley song. However, up until then I did not know it was sampled. Through me for a loop.

INCREDIBLE score. Really enhanced some of the scenes, particularly Erik's. His theme was just spot-on perfect.

LOVED the whole recruiting montage and how it was set to this song. Not to mention it ends with the now infamous cameo. :awesome:

Love the music! In fact I'm having a bit of trouble finding the soundtrack here in Australia. I'ld love to listen to it. Has anyone in Aus seen it in the shops? Either way, oh well, I'll just buy it online.

Thank you! I was looking for this music in the soundtrack but couldn't find it. The cerebro montage was my favorite part of the movie.

Is it just me and my nerdiness, or did I hear the original trilogy's theme during the establishing shot of the Erik and Charles arriving at the Russian general's house?

I've been listening to the soundtrack today on my way to and from work and I was surprised to notice how Jackman used so much of the sound and vibe of Kamen's X1 score..

It's very true, the soundtrack is like an emotional cousin of Kamen's score, the main theme is like a more rocking version of the old one, and the Cerebro sequence is basically a very close sounding updated version, even Mystique's theme kinda has a Logan and Rogue feel.

I've been listening to the score all week, and I said it on the Avengers board and I'll say it again here: If Marvel wants to go the "smaller, cheaper composer" route to conserve money on that massive project, I think Henry Jackman would be a great choice. To me he shows serious potential here (and with his contributions to the Kick-Ass score). Stylistically, he kinda reminds me of early John Powell (who I love), so I look forward to hearing his future work.

One of the little details in his score that I love is that kind of "whirring" noise that suggests magnetic interference woven into Magneto's theme. A tiny stroke of genius there, imo.
