I was just wondering what is going to happen with the Narrows in TDK? None of the conversations being held regarding the film seem to acknowledge this part of the film.

Are the Narrows supposed to be "lost" to the fear gas assault? Destroyed? Revamped? Can we expect mob dealings or something of that nature to occur there?

Thanks for answering. :yay:

Well it will be there, that's for sure. Arkham is located in the Narrows in Nolan's version of Gotham, so we can certainly expect a Narrows visit atleast by the end of the film. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Joker meets the mob bosses there or burns the money there. That scene with the burning money looked very much like an area in The Narrows

As I recall, the Narrows have been mentioned tremendously in the 'Gotham Times' portion of the viral marketing.

Perhaps someone who's read them more in depth can fill us in on anything/everything regarding the Narrows...

I was wondering the same thing myself, and I am very interested in finding out how much if any of the narrows we will be seeing in TDK.

The Narrows seems like an ideal hiding place for people like Joker and Scarecrow. It's the most lawless area of the city, especially after the fear toxin assault, and it doesn't seem the authorities have done a stellar job of restoring law and order there.

I know they keep the whole place closed off with Police guards watching it in one of the shorts in Gotham Knight.

Gordon says "the narrows is lost.."

Well they said that they made the scope bigger for this film and that they wanted to show Gotham big and empty instead of cluttered like in BB.

I dont get it. They made a huge modern city, but to give batman his playground, they threw in a cluster of buildings and cables that resembles the comic's gotham. In that its ****ty and cluttered and dirty. But its tiny. The rest of gotham is like any real city.

But now, that tiny island of comics gotham isnt really in the film. Most of the film is shot in empty shiny boulevards. I dont want gotham to look like the narrows. They were too cluttered. But the TDK gotham is too shiny and clean and....not gotham. Too many shiny skyscrapers....

Gotham should be Narrows and Downtown all in one. Cluttered buildings, many rooftops....a mess.

I appreciate the fact that the showdowns happen in front of Wayne's glorious tower, but some of the movie has to happen elsewhere. Batman isnt about glamour, he is about the slumps, the alleys and the underground tunnels.

I know they keep the whole place closed off with Police guards watching it in one of the shorts in Gotham Knight.

Well given the s**t that went down in "Begins," having the entire island in lockdown sounds the most plausible. I wonder if that'll potentially be in the case in 'TDK.'

This way, even if they DON'T return to the Narrows this time around, they've set up the perfect reasoning to not do so...same with Wayne Manor and the Cave, I suppose.

In Gotham Knight they said they turned the entire island of the narrows into Arkham, so that the whole island of the Narrows is now a giant prison.
But who knows if it's canon, i think it'd be kinda neat.

Yeah it's all covered in the Gotham Times, especially issue 1.

It's lost. They must have blown it up. ;)

watch gotham knight on tuesday..(or before if you can get ahold of it) the entire island is now arkham. it seriously looks like a concentration camp/high security prison...its creepy. :)

well does anyone know if they did any filming in st pancreas in london for TDK. if so then the narrows maight make a small appearance in TDK because i believe thats where they filmed the narrows for BB.

GT Epi 4 mentioned how the residents rioted for weeks but eventually restored it to normal. They also talk about the Narrows in the Times articles; lack of repairs and occasional outbreak of Fear Toxin. They also mentioned that Crane and the inmates he freed drowned as they tried to escape, although we know better.:whatever:

As people have been saying, according to GK the narrows is now one big isolated asylum. Looks pretty cool in the animated feature, would love to see the same thing in TDK.

Also off topic but in GK Det. Allen was in a couple of the episodes, will he be making an appearance in TDK also?

You would think we'd see it at the end of THE DARK KNIGHT, for obvious reasons. They'll need someplace to hold a certain supervillain until his trial.
