Right now I would say (in no order):

Prey
Fear
Rainbow Six: Vegas

Those are just the ones I've played and plus there are still many more coming out, so I'm sure that list will change.

90% of the time your going to be on first person mode so yea its a FPS.

Yea, as L.A said, the majority of your time is spent in the first person view, so no it wouldnt be considered a 3rd person game.

My list is just like LA's.

1. RAINBOW SIX : VEGAS

2. CALL OF DUTY 2

3. CALL OF DUTY 3.

Id also add GEARS OF WAR, even tho its NOT an FPS its still a really damn good shooter for the 360.

I think 3rd and 1st person shooters are two similar to really differentiate between them. It's the same concept, running around with a gun and shooting bad guys.

Well, yea its the same concept but two VERY different styles. In terms of shooters, i always prefer FPS just because its slightly easier to work with. I wasnt a big fan of the online vs mode in Gears of War for that reason, i mean i love the game but just not crazy about the multi player. Rainbow Six on the other hand, i cant get enough of.

Steer clear of Shadowrun, Prey, F.E.A.R., Perfect Dark Zero and pretty much every other FPS out there right now.

No, that honor goes to Rainbow Six : Vegas, hands down. Gears is fantastic but the cover system and just overall online play in Rainbow is better.

Gears plays smoother, has a stronger campaign, is more exciting due to it's nature and honestly the gunfights in Rainbow Six Vegas are piss-poor.

Why? Except for Shadowrun (which I haven't tried) those are all quality games.

They may be decent enough to play, but if you're looking for a great FPS, they won't satisfy on the level that Xbox 1 FPS games satisfied. We have to wait for The Darkness, Halo 3 and whatever else quality FPS there is on the horizon before we can start making "top three" lists.

Hahahaha too young? Im 23 man! I was in a crew when I was youngin but I wasnt bangin if thats what you mean. Grears is an excellent game! But I just cant stand its 3rd person view. Im used to that 1st person mode. Its alot more smooth for me. Rainbow is more of realistic shooter type of game which is what I perfer. The online is so freaking fun! You can modify your armor. Higher ranking you get, the more weapons and armor you get. I was playing terrorist hunt couple of nights ago with these dudes who just came back from Iraq and we were doing all these army tactics!!! It was the most fun I had in a video game this year!!! and lastly The cover system in Rainbow is flawless!!! Unlike Gears! It really took the game to another level and separated itself from other FPS!!! I think its the best fps since Goldeneye!!!

Fair enough, though I consider Prey to be pretty damn innovative and great fun to play. It is true though that what have to look forward to already has the potential to surpass what we've seen so far. I figured he wanted to get a good idea on what is currently out.

Anyways though, most FPS can be beat in a day or two and since there are a lot of truly great games coming soon, I would recommend just renting most of these rather then buying.

No, no, not really and not even close.

First of all, Gears isn't smoother than R6, getting that cover to work right every time isn't always possible. Sometimes if you and a partner are behind the same piece of debris, the game wont let you take cover even if there is plenty of room for both, not a problem in R6. The campaign in Gears is cool, but SHORT, REALLY SHORT, not so in R6. Gears is extremely exciting being that its really fresh, i deff cant argue with you there but being part of an elite counter terrorist unit in one of Americas most exciting cities is pretty damn cool as well. Overall its an opinion, so there really is no point in continuing an argument. I feel there is more to R6 than there is to Gears, but as iv said, both games are fantastic and you cant go wrong with either.

I prefer Rainbow, the cover system and graphics in Gears is great, but it's too short and I'm not a big fan of the online mode either. Rainbow has a longer one-player mode and a much more robust online mode. If GRAW 2 had Rainbow's cover and upgrade system in the online mode though, I might consider that better, the ability to change the weather is really cool, but no cover ability and not being able to upgrade your character hurts it.

What your all saying about r6 and the cover system is true.But,it only gets better online...Lets face it,in game the AI aint too bright.The funniest part is when they just get frustrated and decide to run out at you...I just wish R6 online had more options.Something where you can record your own taunts..And a better facial system..Maybe where you could even upload a photo and paste it in there..

Technically Gears is a better game, graphics, I felt control was better, AI in first person mode, cooler weapons and cover system. However, I have more fun playing Rainbow Six and in the end that's all the matters to me.
