Between 110 and 120 is considered well above average, so I don't think that's the case if we're talking about average IQ. I mean it could be; there are a fair number of people here who I'd consider intelligent. There are many smart and well-articulated posts and opinions, but they tend to showcase wit and general knowledge rather than abstract reasoning, puzzle-solving ability etc. -- the standard measures of IQ.
I don't place credence in IQ as a measure of functional intelligence. Although I'm in Mensa I certainly am not top 2% intelligent, certainly am no genius. I attribute getting in largely to my formal education (Singapore ranks highly on science, maths and reading) and a test-taking culture (I've been sitting for tests and exams since I was in kindergarten!). I took the test in adulthood, so you could say I was prepped for it.
