What does Hulk director think of Ghost rider?

Well, I hated everything about the first film, till I seen it and did a 180 in opinion (look it up here).

I think the alot of issues people have with the first film are pretty dumb, some are grounded, but some are pretty damn silly. Like some saying outside of the Hulk being Kong sized, he didn't "look like the Hulk", whatever, go get your eyes checked.

I really think, much like Superman Returns, that fans are getting too spoiled when a populer character gets put on screen and they say it missed the mark, then you find out about the movie they were going to do before this one got green lighted.

So because a worser film was not made that means the fans still have to accept mediocrity?

MSJ is a cornball.

I expect far better from LL.

Give Mark a break. I'll admit that he stumpled with Ghost rider, but he did make a great Dare Devil movie, that got ruined by the studio execs in the editing room. If that playground fight seen wasn't in there I would put DD on the same level as the Spider-man films, X-Men 2 movies and Batman begins. Not as good as those, but on the same level. DD was better then the first X-Men.

I ask this question hoping he almost doesnt like it. For all the F/X and whatnot GR lacked creativity when it came to the plot and visual representation of main villains. Basically GR was a popcorn flick, nothing more.

Is this the same route LL wants to go with Hulk?

For what AVi had said for years now that's exactly the way he wants to go, and he's proud of it.

And it's the way I'm ready Hulk 2 to follow.

Tragic but very possible.

:woot: Riiiiiiiight...the same execs who ruined Schmacher's original vision of Batman & Robin, eh? I'm gonna stop laughing in a second...then I'll make my post.

*ok, I think I have my composure now...

It seems they'll go in the direction of a big popcorn movie, and I feel like they should, just to get the best out of Marvel's most blockbuster-worthy character.

Ang's Hulk had it's moments - as a director, there are certain things that he does better than most, specifically his eye for detail. And like most people with an extreme amount of focus, it's a two-edged sword. Looking back at it, I notice that I am either genuinely impressed with something (i.e. the sequence of Hulk in the lab, busting through the walls and breaking stuff) or totally lost on it (pretty much all of the Absorbing Dad stuff), leading me to believe that you need someone who's willing to put the hours in to perfect the Hulk-out transformation, but isn't afraid to slap a 20-min rampage of Hulk/Abomination tearing through a shopping mall somewhere in the film.

In other words, you need someone who understands how to keep the cheese from spoiling.

:wow: How freakin' long has it been since I've posted here?? Hmmm...anyway...welcome back, me.

I can understand why Avi Arad would want TIH to be a bit more like the Lou Ferrigno television show than say Ang Lee's film ultimately proved to be, but I will remain optimstic that the script for TIH has enough character depth and plot development to stand on it's own and not essentially become something of a total summer action popcorn flick that it could very well easily become under the circumstances.

I do not mind maybe having a BB on the run, but this Hulk better not be a 2 ton lifting, oversisized green human and remain the CGI Hulk we had in the first movie albeit stuck at the size of his first transformation.
