Fox really does ruin everything.

Based on the storyboards revealed for X3, I think that Singer's X3 would have been much more visually cooler than The Last Stand. I'm honestly kinda hoping that 20th Century Fox will continue on with their direction of that they've been taking with their movies by completely ignoring the bad movies and building on the good ones like how X-Men: First Class ignored X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine while building upon X-Men and X2. Or how Rise of the Planet of the Apes focused just on the first two movies. Or Predators ignoring the Alien vs. Predator movies.

The next X-Men film that is actually a sequel would be so much cooler if they made Bryan Singers X3 and completely washed their hands off of The Last Stand.

I thought the movie was bland. Visually.

It felt like rush job. Which it was. :D

Yeah, i remember that they planed Phoenix to lift and destroy submarines, but instead of that we got a gangsters war

Doing Singer's X3 would be so much better now than back then as well. With the amount of time passed between X2 and now, it would make the story of Cyclops being unable to move on from Jean's death much more tragic.

I'm all for changes for the better of an adaptation of a movie based on a comic book, but all of the movies Fox has distributed seem to take it too far. Examples:

I will start with the X-Men series, since it was the first.

X-Men: Before I begin, I'd like to state that Bryan Singer was always wrong to take on the director/co-writer duties of this series. If you would like me to elaborate, just ask.

First off, I never liked the idea of the Wolverine/Rogue relationship. We, the comic book readers know that Wolverine has had these kind of relationships with many of the young X-Men, but Rogue was never one of them. We know Kitty was one of them, but her role didn't really become significant until TLS, and Jubilee never became relevant in the series at all.

Staying on the subject of Rogue, I also do not like the relationship they developed between her and Bobby. There is nothing interesting about it. In the comics she has had her fiery cat-and-mouse relationship with Gambit, which always made for something interesting since it basically was just a game of cat and mouse, and then there's her relationship with Magneto, who was immune to her powers.
I was ok with the changes it didn't bother me, I mean Bryan Singer was attempting some semblance of realism which I'm glad he ditched them wearing spandex but they could've added more color to them like XMFC did.

Next, there's the character of Storm; I'm sorry, people, but I never liked the idea of Halle Berry in this role. She lacked the strength of the character and I'll just leave it at that.
I don't like Storm anyway but I hated that Halle Berry's accent wasn't consistent.

X2: I don't have many complaints about this one, other than what was stated about the previous movie, so I'll make this one brief.

Let's start with Yuriko: 1. Like Sabretooth in X-Men, she did not belong in this movie, they totally wasted a good character. 2. Kelly Hu is too damn pretty to play her.
There aren't that many Asian actresses that come to mind but Ming Na who was in Street Fighter could've been cool but she's pretty too, maybe Margaret Cho?

Finally, we have X-Men Origins: Well, all we have so far is a workprint which is actually a pretty good flick until they start getting closer to the end in which they introduce the following characters:

Gambit: It's not the role, it's the actor; he kinda had the look, but didn't have the swagger or THE FRIGGIN' ACCENT!!!

Weapon XI: Why did they have to waste the name of Deadpool on him?!!! Don't get me wrong, outside of him shooting optic blasts, he was actually a pretty cool character, but please don't waste one of my favorite characters of the past 20 years on that!
The whole movie was garbage and yeah I know fans want to see Wolverine and nothing else but he gets boring after awhile that the movie just treads along introducing cameos left and right.

Daredevil: I can only comment on this movie since I did not see Elektra, due to lack of interest.
I actually like the Daredevil movie and felt it was a better attempt at introducing Marvel's version of Batman away from the cheery Spider-Man films but I didn't see Elektra just by the trailers I knew it was garbage.

Fantastic Four: This I can make brief, because what I am about to state pretty much covers everything.

The movie just wasn't very exciting, the casting of Julian McMahon was good because he does play a very convincing villain, but his voice just kills me as Doom! It doesn't work!

Rise of the Silver Surfer: Who would've thought I would prefer this over the first and it was a PG flick? It was more exciting than the first, IMO, but still not exciting enough.
I only have a small sampling of FF comics only because I like John Byrne's art but in general the FF to me have always been boring I guess watching every Saturday morning cartoon of them enforced that too.

The first movie was ok but a bit fluffy and kiddyish and the second one was too light hearted I guess FOX didn't care which is why they rushed the sequel and with a short running time, and I have serious doubts their FF reboot will ever get off the ground.

Since some people have brought it up, I kind of doubt that X3 is going to get "rebooted" out of the series. There are a few noteworthy inconsistencies, but overall the two films actually tie together pretty nicely, and there are plenty of explanations for the percieved "continuity problems" that they really don't bother me.

While there are a few questions that XFC left us about X3's place in the franchise, it pretty much kicked XMOW to the curb, but XMOW kind of already did that on its own since it made virtually no attempt to maintain continuity with any of the prior films. It's the true red headed stepchild of the X-men movie series, and it makes sense that none of the movies going forward are acknowledging it as canon. I could go on for pages about why it was bad as a movie, but in regards to maintaining any illusion of continuity with the other films it was an epic fail. It didn't even try.

X-Men: The Last Stand First Class was the best comic book movie of the year, and if anything Marvel should pay attention to what Fox got right with it. Of course the hardcore fanboys will always hate on the X-men movies for being innaccurate, but as films they deliver (well, except for Wolverine, but we'll just pretend that one never happened). Fox has improved a lot in the last few years, and I think that X-men is fine where it is. I think it's for the best that Marvel can't mix X-men into the Avengers movieverse anyway, because it already doesn't work in the comics so I can only imagine how badly it would ruin the movies.

I notice that you left out X3. And anyway, X-Men movies' problems weren't just inaccuracy, but rather the characterization (or lack thereof) of key characters as well as the plots (mainly with X3 and Wolverine) that were handled poorly. I admit that FC redeemed Fox in alot of ways, but I don't think it elevates Fox over Marvel Studios just because of one movie, and Fox has had alot of bad Marvel movies along the way. I don't see Marvel ever getting the rights back unless the public is so anti-superhero movies that each one bombed at the box office, and Fox is tired of rebooting them for the hundredth time.

I've been happy with pretty much every Marvel movie; even their co-productions. We've been treated to three great X-Men movies (X1, X2 & FC), one decent film (X3), and a not-too-great movie (Wolverine).

I can watch Wolverine for action and I think the adamantium bonding scene is pretty friggin' cool and Hugh Jackman gives it his all.

I'm just one of those people that can find something to like in almost every movie I see.

Example: I've only seen Elektra on cable once; hated it, but Jennifer Garner rocked that Red "ninja" suit ;)

I disagree.

FOX already made a X-Men 3 a few years ago. There's no need to do a "Better X3" just because the first one sucked. There are lot of X-Men stories out there to adapt.

Personally, I didn't think anything from X3 was not salvageable so rather than seeing a Part 3 remade "better", I'd just want to see them build a kickass movie on the ruins.

+1 million

I think they totally botched the Dark Phoenix saga, and they offered no explaination of why she took out both Cyclops and Prof. Xavier in a rather zoned-out state and joined Magneto's army, before she inexplicably went off and started killing mutants around her. In the comic's version, Jean was mind-controlled by Mastermind, and in the end she redeemed herself by basically committing suicide instead of killing Scott and other X-Men. In X3, she was just killed by Wolverine and the audience just assumed that she went crazy by herself, and she could not be rescued or redeemed for her actions. That was the wrong way of ending the DP saga which had been set up since the end of X1.

I completely disagree. I want that abomination erased from the movie continuity, like XO:W

Well, now it appears Fox is ruining another Marvel character. They're planning on making The Punisher into a television series. In it "Frank Castle is a New York police detective who moonlights as the vigilante known as The Punisher, hunting down criminals that slip through the system."

Can't even get The Punisher right. And as a TV series no less.

Marvel sold it to Fox like that...Fox didnt change him, Marvel did

Seems like Fox are finally taking an intrest in the quality of their movies after the critical and commericial success of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and X-Men: First Class as well as Marvel Studios recent success

"We're trying like hell," Fox Chairman Tom Rothman told MTV Splash Page in a recent interview when asked about the status of a sequel to X-Men: First Class. "We're trying as hard as we can. We really want to do it. We're planning to do it." He also made it clear that its success has made the studio reevaluate how they handle comic book movies. "The reason, in addition to those two guys and Matthew Vaughn, that it was as good as it was that the script was really good. The key to making a great continuing franchise is to have a great script, so we're working hard on it."

While we already know that David Slade is hard at work on Daredevil, Rothman confirmed that they still hold the rights to the Fantastic Four and the studio are prioritising both of those projects. "'Daredevil' is still with David Slade. It's in development now. We're working on it and 'Fantastic Four.'" He added: "I think for all of us, the bar has been raised, so we've got to aim high now. Marvel's done a terrific job with their films. Where our Marvel movies are concerned or other movies like that. It's like what we had with 'Planet of the Apes' this summer. I think it's important for us to really aim high and deliver an A-level experience to the audience."
