What does it mean to be black?

I don't get it from black people. It's always preppy white kids here in Delaware :

yeah I went to a majority white school and the fact that I didn't look like I steped of a 50 cent music video was shocking to some of them kids. It was like wow your just like us kinda thing

This rich Italian kid named Guiseppe(hahahaha) said that one day in Aquatic Bio class and I looked him dead and the eye and said "Ok, gimme your wallet, NOW". He stopped laughin real quick. I had no desire to rob him that's obviously the kind of crap he expects "black people" to do on the regular.

The guy hit him in the face, told him to take off his shoes and socks and took his money and his cell phone, so after the cops left the house, I was hearing the story, and he just kept mentioning what the guy was saying and what he was doing and I go, "Aw, he wasn't..."
"Yes, he was a Black guy. "

Yeah there is a talk show here in England and this tv presenter woman was on it talking about how she was mugged. It was a black guy who took her phone, purse and she was really shaken up about it.

Anyway a few months later she was walking down the street and a young black guy came running up to her and she freaked out. The guy then handed her her purse which she had dropped. she said she felt so guilty because in her head she though the young black guy was going to rob her when he was only trying to help her.

This is a racist generalization.

• Most of the cab drivers here are Ethiopians. If anything they won't pick up a White guy.

• There are countless happy families that include mixed race marriages.

• Some store employees are racists. Some are not.

• I don't know anyone who would consider this guy to be "ghetto".

Style of dress and methods of speech are not a race.

If these things are "What it means to be Black", then you're saying that Black people who don't fit into your classifications aren't Black. That's silly.

We don't ask why that came to be. We just laugh and go with it.
