Maybe some people are just a little more open minded than others?
I grew up watching Transformers....and I actually like the changes that are being done in this film.
All the Transformers look tougher, more alien. And the Decepticons look very sinister. Much more than their old G1 counter-parts.
Depends on what subject you're talking about. If you mean that people are more open minded to this particular movie then yeah...of course some people are more open minded. I feel that people who are for this movie, for the reasons that Transformers was nothing more than a cartoon, could be more open mnded about expanding the franchise to a more sci-fi/fantasy series with more epic scope than just pretty explosions and rotating camera shots.
As for the Decepticons looking blatantly evil...does that make it more realistic? In reality, when do evil factions actually look evil? The excuse of making this more than a 2 hour long toy commercial/live-action-cartoon is sort of defeated, to me, if they make the Decepticons and Autobots even more contrasted in their affiliation than the cartoon.
