How do you think would have been the first film with the original team?

Although X1 was great, I think I might've liked it better with the original team.

Are those dates for the films real or just specualation?

That would haven been cool with the original team! but i still love X1!

I think they could have gone on to make more movies if they started out with the orginal 5...

I agree

I would have liked to seen the orginal 5 in X1

It would've been cool but the movie wouldn't have done as well. A lot of the iconic characters people most non-fans know about are in the new team, such as Storm, Wolverine, etc. And when most non fans think of X-Men they think of Wolvie anyway.

It would of been so much better if that was the team in the first movie.

I don't think i woul have wtached the first movie with only the original 5. I doubt it would have made so much money or that we would have seen a sequel to it. Wolverine is the first thing non-comic fans think of when they hear X-men. Storm is also a very recodnizable charcater, with a much bigger fanbase than Angel and Beast.

Exactly.
X-Men probably would've been a bomb without Wolverine in it.
Storm is also very recognizable. It's not about the past, its about who the tradtional X-Men are now and since the last 15+ years.

20th Century Fox were very smart with putting Wolverine in the first one.
Seeing more than four X-Men would've been alot better than what we did see though.

NO WAY!!

...X1 couldve been better but I wouldnt want the team like that...Id have it like this:
Wolverine
Storm
Cyke
Jean
Beast

I was talking to someone at work about this same very subject. What if the movie had the original 5 X-Men, all adults (but young Angel and Iceman could still work) and furry Beast.

We got to talking and I was telling him how cool it would of been if during the second film, Cyclops and Angel were kidnapped by Striker and Striker cut off Angels wings and game him metal wings. That would have been such a bad ass thing to see in the films.

if they used the original five, which would have been cool, lots of fans would have been saying, "hey, wheres wolverine?" Plus, didn't sells of the comic book get much better once they added more characters like Wolverine to it?

Maybe they could have had the core team be the original five, or have had a picture of the original five (in their original costumes) hanging on the wall in the entrance of the mansion or in Xavier's office.

With the right planning, Fox should have foreseen that this movie would be very big for them had they done it based on the original X-Men. The technology may not have been there to give extrordinary special effects, but showing the characters in their earlier days with even the most "primative" effects, it could have been pulled off.

And as the sequels and effects advanced themselves, the characters could have been shown in different stages. For example, Iceman could have been covered in snow in the first film, then icy covering in X2, then complete transparency in X3. Throw in an ice slide and there you go. Same with Beast, Jean and Angel... The character grows as a person (and powers), fans are happy, more money is made, and you have yourself a sucessful film franchise to continue on for years and years..... Simple foumula, isn't it?..... Too bad the studios don't understand that cencept.

They're too worried about the overall general population and it's consumer demographics to see if there's enough love story in it for women, if it appeal to kids, how many products and sponsors they can squeeze in it, and so on. You didn't see anything like that in John Carpenter's: The Thing.... Nothing but an all male cast, in the middle of the antarctic with a crazy looking creature taking over their bodies. No Segourney Weaver's, no love interests, steriotyped Gungans, or car chases. Just pure unadulterated film making.

So true

It, wouldn't of had to be only the original five, they could of still introduced wolverine and rogue the same way or something similar, and still had the students at he school, they just would of had beast, iceman and angle as part of the main team, instead of just Jean, Storm and Cyc. ( Jean and Scott as his first students) as being the team. though, i believe i hear some where that singer wanted beast in the first two movie, but couldn't work it in to the budget. it was probably the same way with angle. he still could of had ice man as part of the team and maybe even alil older.

X4 would be great if the original team will be the center of attention. But I will recast Famke because maybe she will be too old when they start shooting X4 so I will pick Rachel McAdams for Jean Grey.

It would have been a lovely sight to see in the movies... I hope we do get an Original 5 interaction in a future movie. Maybe even a reference to the 5 on the X3 DVD.

That's nice, where did you get that pic?

Might've worked with younger actors, but definitely wouldn't have been as popular.

I think most of the cast are just fine, they only need to recast Famke because she will be too old if they ever shoot another X-men film maybe in 2010 or in the near future.

I can't see Wolverine and Rogue!:( No Wolverine and Rogue no good movie...
