Assuming that Serkis is indeed Ulysses Klaw, why is he after the Vibranium?
Wealth? Scientific interest? I think I've read a couple of different interpretations of the character over the past few decades in that regard

Well, originally he was a physicist, so it would be scientific.

But they could adapt the character as a regular mercenary without any superpowers (in the beginning). Just like Crossbones.

If he witnesses Ultron utilize vibranium in AoU that could certainty lead Klaw to Wakanda.

Wakanda being the only African country to still be in control of its own natural resources probably puts a big target on its back for the people who know of the existence of Vibranium.

I think there's a possibility that Klaw is already on Team Ultron in AOU. In the comics, Ultron (as the Crimson Cowl) rescued Klaw from prison and recruited him to the Masters of Evil, and Klaw, in turn, provided him with vibranium to make him indestructible.

The scientific interest in Vibranium angle of the original is fine. On the other hand, there are a lot of mad scientists in comics. The Imperialist version from Hudlin would offer something different. My preference is towards the latter interpretation. It's a more interesting, modern approach (this isn't to say I want them to copy entirely from Hudlin's version, just that a Silver Age Fantastic Four story might not translate the best to the big screen).

I've always liked that he's just a greedy *****. it makes sense in today's world.

It would even be amazing to have him have a chat with Wilson Fisk about how much they both love money

To crush his enemies, to see them driven before him, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Hopefully he's looking for a mustache, because that chin curtain is ridiculous.

If they let Hudlin influence this project maybe he isn't after vibranium but the cure for cancer they callously withhold from the rest of the world.

That would make it difficult to feel sympathy for the wakandans though

Money, what else?
And maybe he's as as racist as marcvader said.

Then they can get James Cameron to direct
