The performances, script and dialgoue are all so shoddy, it's the film that I'd imagine someone would make as a way of taking the piss out of bond by exaggerating the negative aspects.

I disagree. Moore is in top form, and the villian is excellent. Even the girl, while not terribly attractive, is quite good. The script gives depth to the main female lead rathr than making her some sex object for Bond to save frequently throughout the film, and the dialogue is typical Moore-era one-liners, all delivere with style.

I know Kevin Roegle would agree.

Moore is decidedly awful in most of the bond movies he's in. His performance just scraped past mediocre on a few rare occaisons, this was not one of them.

Pure cliche, and boring, there was no excitement, considering everything that happens, It has no impact, unlike goldfinger for example, which spends most of the movie with Bond chilling with GF, yet it's a lot more absorbing.

Wow, a car chase, never seen one of those before, they were very unimaginative indeed.

In FYEO, Moore gives his most balanced and mature performance as James Bond. When he does away with Locke, avenging the death of Ferrara, it is one of the most riveting and brutal scenes ever portrayed by any Bond actor. The interplay between Bond, Kristatos and Colombo is a throwback to the early Connery films where espionage and intrigue trumped gadget filled action scenes.

However, FYEO was still able to rejuvinate the Bond action sequences, resulting in some of the most stunning action set pieces in Bond history. FYEO took the cliche "Bond car chase" and turned the sequence on its head. Instead of another chase scene involving the Lotus Espirit and a gadget filled Bond car, Bond's car is destroyed and he must escape from Gonzalez' henchmen in a Citroen CV2!!!!! Bond is out horsepowered, outmuscled and outnumbered and he stills find a way to overcome the odds. It's considered the greatest chase sequence in Bond history.

The ski chase sequence and the climax atop St.Cyril Monastery is another great sequence and involves one of the greatest stunts ever performed in any movie, let alone a Bond film.

For Your Eyes Only is full of intrigure, excitement and gives us one of Bond's greatest adventures ever!

FYEO and TSWLM were both good silly fun and Moore's best entries. I enjoyed both a lot and place one among the top 5 Bond films.

WTF? FYEO is freaking awesome. The opening scene, the chase through the ski resorts, the showdown at the Monestary? The film as a whole is great.

The opening is the only thing I really liked. :o :csad:

FYEO is hardly silly, it's among the most sober and down-to-earth of the series.

Tanya Roberts in A View to a Kill is just :wow:

Amen

I always loved The Man With the Golden Gun. Christopher Lee, a midget, this movie has everything. Also like Casino Royale (2006), GoldenEye, A View To a Kill, and Goldfinger.

What's with the Golden Gun love all of a sudden?! :huh:

I like it, but in no way would I consider it one of the better Bond movies. As I've said, one of the worst Bond girls, lack of action, JW Pepper, great stunt ruined by comedy sound effect.....when Bond blows up Scaramanga's hi-tech base at the end, there is merely one henchman!

And let's not overlook this bit;
