Never Say Never. It perfectly sums up the character of the classic filmic bond, with brilliant lines and a top notch story.

Goldfinger is another wonderful example of bond, how charisma and intelligence is the key to his success.

You only live twice is alright, drags on near the end though.

Roger Moore's films were attrocious, let's not even mention moonraker..... :(

Goldfinger hands down.

Then I would say Casino Royale probably. But I really like Sixties Bond the best. Any Sixties bond movie, from Dr. No to On her majesties Secret Service is great. I love You Only Live Twice, it is cheesy goodness, while From Russia with Love is a bond movie we have never really seen since. It's so dark and down to earth.

Goldeneye is the only Bond movie I like from the end of the sixties till now.

and why is there a none of the above answer. If you don't like any of the bond movies, why even open this thread.

Tough decision, but I have to say Goldeneye. Although Goldfinger is a close second.

Never Say Never.

I like that movie. It's flawed and a poor man's Thunderball but the idea of an aging Bond was pretty cool. :yay:

Agreed. `60s Bond was the best cause they got it right. Since the `70s they just try to keep the franchise fresh.

My top 3 would be From Russia With Love
Followed closely by Goldfinger
Then Casino Royale

It was the only decade he was truly allowed to be Bond. But I think Casino Royale finaly found a way to make him bond but update him to the digital, post coldwar, Feminist age.

Goldeneye did this as well. But they sort of put forth these problems a little too openly and didn't exactly solve them. It makes the movie an interesting post coldwar Bond movie though, and is still agreat action flick. But then the rest of the Brosnan bonds were like 70's cheese on digital crack.

Living Daylights... I love Dalton's Bond the best, to me he's what a spy should be, not terribly jacked, not terribly suave, just bad ass and get the job done. Plus it has the best beginning of any of the Bond Films with the sniper-rifle :o

See, thats why you and many others will never understand Bond. Bond isn't the average or stereotypical secret agent, he's an English gentleman, he's supposed to be suave, slick, charming, posh, highly intelligent and well informed in many subject matters and that includes things that the avergae spy wouldn't have a clue about. He's also meant to be debonaire and has a taste for the classic and refined things in life. To be honest, his persona isn't that of a normal spy at all and thats what makes James Bond who he is.

This is what separates Bond from the likes of the Bournes and Bauers.

Exactly.

The Man with the Golden Gun

It's just such a classic summer movie for me. I usually watch it once a year on a hot summer day. Plus it has the best Bond girl; Britt Ekland.

How on earth is Britt Ekland the best Bond girl?

Wtf... Stop implying so much from one post... It's getting so ****in annoying... I love how Bond is a gentlemen and knows tons of ****, but something about Timothy Dalton clicked with me... I don't want a Jason Bourne or Bauer out of James Bond. Seriously... I SAID NOT TOO SUAVE... Watch a timothy dalton movie he's all those things but just right... Timothy Dalton is no Bourne or Bauer... SO please next 'tard who wants to over anaylse what I said... Please read hte responds... Anyway Timothy Dalton was the kick ass... He was suave but not to the point of metrosexual, he was bad ass but not to the point where it's unbelievable, and the list goes on... Anyway if you seriously want Bond to be some completely ridiculous cartoon character then yes I don't undesrtand the character... But if you want him to be a suave debonaire however have some semblance to a spy, then no I think I do get the character... Don't get me wrong I love Sean Connery Bond, I love Roger Moore's Bond... I actually love all the Bonds for what they represent however Timothy Dalton is my favorite but probably by a hair to Connery.

I give it to Goldeneye. Casino Royale, Goldfinger, etc were all great...but Goldeneye truly has the best villian of the franchise. Alec Travelyn was the anti-Bond...and Bean and Brosnan did such a great job...you could truly feel the hatred between them during their final show down. It was simply a great dynamic.

Ok, clearly you need that pipe removed because it seems with every sentence you made, it seemed like that pipe was sinking deeper and deeper.:o
You like Dalton, fine but all I'm doing is telling you how Bond is. Its not about Bond not being too suave or what ever, thats the way he is. Bond is an intensely suave individual and a card carrying member of the metrosexual club. Characteristics of an English gentleman, in which they have to dress nice, have their nails loking on point, their shoes shined, their hair looking right and the rest of all that jazz but simultaneously being a man's man....and Connery imo is the only Bond actor to have captured this. Connery's Bond was tough and a very agressive fighter but he was also debonaire, slick, clever and had refined taste, he possessed both extremes.....that is James Bond and thats why I love the character. Hell, Lazenby did a better job than Dalton at capturing Bond. You dont like your Bond being a metrosexual, thats cool, go watch Rambo and your Dalton movies. Me, I like my Bond showcasing all the characteristics to whatever degree as long as its there.:oldrazz:

Rather than continue a silly flame-war... I Get what your saying and agree actually... You just don't get what I'm saying because I was rather blunt and rude to your misinterpretation of my post which was equally rude. I love Connery, I love the fact that Bond is not a hard-edge spy, he's an english gentleman, and I like how Timothy Dalton portrays that... IF you like to disagree with that, go ahead just keep it civil... and we can talk some more.

Roger Moore's best!

LOL, anyone who criticises Denise Richards should watch Barbara Bach first. She is SO. BAD. She is only slightly beyond basic primary school acting, when just saying the lines is good enough.

Having said that, she's one of the most beautiful women in any Bond movie.

Moore's best is For Your Eyes Only.

You could say the same for Tanya Roberts, but damn, was she HOT!

WTF? FYEO is freaking awesome. The opening scene, the chase through the ski resorts, the showdown at the Monestary? The film as a whole is great.

The performances, script and dialgoue are all so shoddy, it's the film that I'd imagine someone would make as a way of taking the piss out of bond by exaggerating the negative aspects.
