Iron Man What is your favorite scene from the movie ?

Iron Man saving that village, the scene where Potts replaces Tony's heart gizmo and the after the credits scene with Nick Fury of course!:woot:

I like the first non-repulser flight test, it still makes me laugh whenever I think about it.

The scene between Pepper and Tony when she's replacing the thing in his chest, the scene with Tony and Rhodes on the plane. Tony first test flight in the suit is good to. There are really jsut too many to name.

That part was hilarious. I loved how they built it up, and then BAM right into the wall. The fire extinguisher robot really made me crack up though. That was a nice touch.

I laughed so hard at the physical-comedy gags. I loved it when he starts out at 10% power, and then after the crash, goes back with the sentiment, "OK, here we go...one percent." The way Robert said that line is what made it so funny.

I also enjoyed the fact he was constantly talking to his computers and lab machines. "The next time you spray me and I'm not on fire, I'm disassembling you. Got it?" :D

Then of course, the flight stablizer test: "OK, just a stabilizer, no problem." Then he winds up backwards, right off screen. So many jokes in this film, I laughed like crazy. I'll definitely be seeing it again before it leaves theaters.

Aside from Robert's performance, I also loved Gwyneth Paltrow's role as Pepper. I didn't read the comics much, but she had great chemistry with Robert, and her scenes just jumped off the screen. I'd only seen Terrence Howard years ago in "Mr. Holland's Opus", and I remember being shocked when Jon Favreau cast him as Rhodey. He did an excellent job though, and I loved the wonderful "maybe next time" nod to War Machine.

Since all of my favorites were mentioned, I'll mention my seconf fav.

The Uni-Beam scene.

There really are too many to name.

1. What someone called the "sniper scene" above - where he took out the terrorists holding hostages. All 3 times I've seen the movie, this has gotten the largest response. I think because it was the perfect combination of tech (the HUD looking cool) the drama (how will he pull it off) and the payoff (damn that looked cool!).

2. The "reveal" - because it was unexpected the first time and upon rewatching it still holds up as a plot surprise.

3. SammyJ's scene - #1 because SamJ is so bad ass. #2 because SamJ is a perfect Fury (old and new as my standards)

4. Gweneth's "taking out the trash" scene

Wanna know my least favorite? Terrence Howard's line "Next time." Why? Because he did an intereview for G4 where he said that WarMachine was more anticipated than IronMan was. Talk about egotism.

But yeah...there are a million great moments - they just dont let up.

when the Arabs hold the human shields and Tonys Shoulder pops up and gives them all head shots lol.
SO AWESOME!

also when Ghost face killa was playing on the plane and the stripper poll just comes up for the girls lol

When Obadiah metaphorically breaks Tony's heart. Such an intense scene.

...I saw that interview and I think the humor of it went right over your head.

Yeah, he literally rips his heart out. Now that right there is a villain.

Uhm...not trying to pick a fight, but even Keven Pereira commented on the fact that Terrence was being egotistic.

Perhaps we should find the clip and re-watch :) Couldn't hurt it's more IronMan for everyone :D

I'll try to find it but I really just think it was a part of his sense of humor. He just came off so straight faced and sarcastic to me (for lack of a better term). Like "Clearly War Machine is the most anticipated character in the series. I don't know how anybody can deny that." tongue in cheek kinda deal.

EDIT: Alright so not that sarcastic.

But I don't know. I didn't get much of an arrogant vibe from it. It was just kind of casual and believable...CAN you think of a more anticipated character in the series?

i didnt find it arrogant. He's just an actor trying to set up his own gig. I'd be doing the same thing.

LOL All of what you said cracked me up too. I just couldn't stop laughingXD
I'm going agian this Sunday, I loved it that much :woot:

I don't mind an actor trying to set up his own gig. I think it's great we're getting better quality actors to care. I just think doing it at the expense of the main character of the movie you're in is weaksauce.

Don't say you're more imporant than IM to promote your character that isn't even in production. Just bad form to me. Oh well. No biggie.

My favorite scene is when Iron Man saved the village.

Epic. Badass. Awesome.

Tough to just pick one. I would have to say one of my favorites is when he saves the village and then the jets come after him.

I just saw it today for my second time.

Did anyone else notice that scene from the trailer wasn't in the movie.(At least from what I can remember)

The scene where he gets up from his kneeled position(like after he lands in that town) and then turns to the camera. It was a dark scene like he was inside the area where the Iron Monger suit was.

Does anyone remember if this was cut or did I just miss it?

It's at the 1:48 mark in this trailer.

hey i know this is off topic but since im a newby i cant start a new thread.
does any one have a picture of the ten rings crest logo thingy. i saw there was a banner with it on it in the cave and in the end credits it showed it.
anyone? thanks in advance:yay:

ps: i read on superherohype to stay till the end of the credits, i did and the only other people who stayed were teenage boys like me, we were looking at each other and were like "yeah thats right we know whats coming" one of my first real "geek" experiences. lol

I don't know, I really enjoyed the entire sequence where he's building and testing out his suit design. The overly cautious fire extinguisher robot scene was cute. Really liked the scene where the suit identifies the four or five armed thugs holding hostages and takes them all out with the weapons on the traps of the suit.

The 10% thrust power test had the entire theater in stitches for a good while afterwards, I can tell you that.

I favorite moments:

-When Rhodey refused a drink with Stark, then joined him while the stewardresses danced with the pole.

-When Mark I blasted out of that terrorists camp like a bat out of hell...then subsequently crashed to the ground.

-"10% thrust test" ;)

-When Mark II crashed through his Malibu home, destroyed one of his prized cars, and got doused by that lovable robot arm (LOL at that part).

-When Mark III killed those terrorists with his mini guns without harming the victims.

-Many great interactions between Stark and Pepper.

...and other too numerous to count.

What a great movie...

favorite scene was when he rescued the families from the terrorist, it was so cool. he just blasted everyone with his hands, and he was so quick and swift. GREAT scene.

Fury scene hands down. Though the village scene was good.
