He lives in a small condo/apartment and is getting a puppy for his daughter for her 4th b-day. He also has a baby who will be 8 month by the time they buy it.

Suggestions? Feel free to post pics.

Yorkshire Terrier - doesn't shed, stays very small, playful but not aggressive.

If there's baby, a little girl, and the money can be sparred, I recommend buying a puppy Labrador or Golden Retriever.

Aww. :D

They're great with kids and such.
Ever watch those toilet paper commercials?

Golden retriever for sure. You can say they might be too big, but they are some of the best dogs you can get for kids.

Go for a female Golden. Great with children, and such a beautiful, beautiful animal. All you need is to get them outside a couple of times a week and give them some excercise. It would also be great to find a park where the children could play with the dog, because these pups LOVE to play anytime. They also can be extremely chill at times in the home, so there's a good balance with that and the playfullness. All around great dogs. I can guarantee there won't be any problems with the dog and the kids if the dog is brought up right.

Also, these dogs seem to have much more of a connection with their owners than some other dogs, and that's important for the kids and adults.

^^ That dog would have been awesome, but I think that dog died...:csad:

I like Golden Retreivers, but I have too many allergies so I can't have pets :csad:

How about, not one of those ridiculous yapping rodents trying to excuse themselves as real dogs listed in the above poll?

My suggestion: Don't get one now. Your friend sounds like he will have a lot on his place. Does he really want to be taking a dog out 3-5 times in the middle of the night to pee plus having to wake up for the baby?

Get a boxer. They are medium sized, awesome with babies and kids, and HELLO... they're adorable and perfect in every way.

Or how about one of these so it can naw the kid's hand off?

Yahoo! 301st post!

I'd definitely go with the Yorkshire. I was about to say Jack Russell because I am sooo happy with my Jigger, but I just remembered how extremely jealous they can get of anybody getting affection instead of them :(

Anyways here is a picture of Jigger and the soon to be mother of his babies :cmad::up:

those are both Jack Russels?

Goldens are great. We have 4 of them at the moment and they're some of the best pets around.
