But as far as characterization goes (for Bruce, specifically), Nolan's is closest. Bale and Conroy are similar in a lot of ways - they're haunted, driven, but NOT crazy. They don't have that demented glint of Keaton's.

Yes they are similar but I've always thought that the public facade of BTAS Bruce Wayne is more similar to that of Val Kilmer's in BF:he's not just a playboy,he's a philantropist and not a total *******.Bale's Bruce may evolve into that in BB3,through.

But it's funny to say that these things are "like BTAS". Because really what they're like is the comics. And that's the beautiful thing about BTAS. All the movies seem to have these bits that recall BTAS because BTAS simply covered...pretty much all the bases! You know? Burton's are like some comics, Nolan's are like other comics, yet they're both like BTAS, because BTAS is all the great things about Batman rolled into one.
