World what movies have had a good part 3?

so trilogies or series as everyone knows usually have a crappy part 3 ala X3, terminator 3, godfather 3, star wars return of the jedi(its considered by lots to be way weaker, but i didnt mind it) superman 3 etc

anyway the only good part 3's i can think of are lord of the rings ROTK, and indiana jones and the last crusade, can anyone think of any others

jurassic park 3, teminator 3 were just okay. nothing great about them at all. in fact they were weak compared to their predecessors.

alien vers predator? that movie sucked horribly. It was not worth watching.

I thought Jurassic Park 3 was terrible compared to the first two, because it wasn't based on any book. The writing just wasn't there.

I wouldn't even consider ROTK in the same category, because it was really the third part of one big movie (as LOTR is actually one story, not a trilogy). It's an entirely different situation.

Typically, trilogies seem to follow one of two patterns:

a)
1 - Very good
2 - Bad, or not as strong as the first
3 - Very good, as good or better than the first

(Ex: Back to the Future series)


b)
1 - Very good
2 - Even Better, great
3 - Bad, not as strong as the first two

(Ex: Star Wars series)

The concern here is the fact that SM2 got great reviews and is widely considered to be superior to the first film. That could mean the Spider-Man series is going to follow trilogy pattern B. And if that's the case, the future could be dim for part 3. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it at all but it wasn't quite on par with the first two. I felt the same way about Blade:Tinity. It lacked certain elements that made the first two great but was perfectly acceptable on it's own merit.

And ROTS may have been the greatest part 3 of all.
