The Ghost is my favorite Iron man villain

I had this idea awhile ago (before they announced whiplash as the second movie's villian), that the Ghost and Spymaster should be in the second movie. Spymaster would be employed by the Russian government to steal either the Arc Reactor or blue prints to make an armor or something. Ghost would then come into play ,to keep it like the comics, because he hates corporations. The three would eventually cross paths leading to the final fight where the Ghost kills Spymaster, (like he did in the Ghosts first story) by grabbing him and phasing him half way through a wall and letting him go, so he becomes solid again halfway through the wall. The Ghost finds out The Russian government hired him and and completes the contract (figuring it'd be a good way to damage Stark Industries). The final shots of this movie would show Stark in his office drunk looking into a mirror (a recreation of Demon In A Bottle). The third movie would be Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man.

EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION - War Machine would be in the Third movie too, to assist Iron Man in fighting two armored villains

Spymaster is a good minor villain who could fit into a whole variety of supporting scenarios.

Didn't you say that you thought MM might not get into 3.
The SpiderMan movies squeezed a lot of his world into 3 films. There has to be a Madame Masque if it moves forward.

Yes, that is what I think will happen. I think #3 will be the Mandarin as the main villain with a minor villain like Spymaster or Ghost to round it out. Madame Masque is too good to be wasted in a small role like that. There isn't a doubt in my mind that Marvel doesn't want #3 to be the last Iron Man movie ever made. With this particular cast/crew sure, but they want to keep making them for as long as they can and as long as they are good. It would be wise to save Madame Masque for the next iteration of the franchise.

I agree she does but not necessarily in this first group of 3 Iron Man movies though. And I'm not the biggest fan of how the Spidey movies turned out. #2 was decent and the first half of #1 was a good enough take on the origin but apart from that I thought they were seriously lacking.

I'd like to see AIM, Hydra and maybe the Maggia show up in these films. Now with the Maggia, do you think they should just go ahead and call if the Mafia instead, because that's really what it is and would be less confusing for the GA? I happen to think so. And MODOK would be a tricky one to pull off.

With today's special effects? I'd imagine it could be quite easy, and somewhat topical of today's real-world headlines, what with genetic/cloning issues occasionally making the news.

I wasn't refering to the SFX. More about how to keep a villain who's basically a giant head from seeming stupid to the general audience.

I don't think they'd find Modok any more stupid than any of the other fantastic looking creatures showing up in film these days...look at Avatar, for example. The general audience seems to have taken to that quite well...

It's all in the execution, as they say. But it'd be real easy to F-it up with that character.

I have faith in Favreau...i honestly think he's a talented enough director to make the general audience believe anything...(assuming he comes back for a third go-round).

yea, but I think I need to have her show up sooner than later...Don't I?
I mean even by the time I got to reading I'M she was gone. I came around in #222, I think her last was #204 I think.

Current no, relevant no, but as far as influence on the character def. Yes. Ill be burnt up if she's not even mentioned in 2...I hate to compare to the Rami franchise, but she's Gwen as far as comic to film relevance.

As do I, but I doubt he'll be going beyond IM3 and I don't see MODOK appearing before that.

She ain't Gwen. If we want to get technical, Pepper is Gwen and Bethany Cabe would be MJ. Masque would be Black Cat(although that's where this analogy breaks down since BC isn't a true evil villainess while Masque is).

In context he just pushed a giant machine into MM father ,that's what I want to see. Prob won't get it, but ill settle for The Ghost.

Besides villains who already appeared (Iron Monger, Justin Hammer, Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo) and the Mandarin, what other villains should appear in a sequel?
Since you gave us the option in only picking ONE villain, you should have titled you question "What other Iron Man villain should appear in a sequel"

Has Melter'sa Thunder sort of been taken?

If Whiplash hadn't been someone who harnessed Stark's battery for his own weapon,

Melter could have been a scientist who figured out how to use Stark's battery power as a weapon:

Or could it still be done?

Victor Von Doom

That would be really awesome, but it can't happen (yet)

Hopefully the Fantastic Four rights revert back to Marvel within the next couple of years. I think if FOX doesn't make a Fantastic Four movie within the next few years, then they loose the rights.

MODOK, it'd be hilarious!

No, in all seriousness, it should be the Crimson Dynamo, provided Vanko doesn't take on that identity in IM2.

Another villain that no one has mentioned is Whirlwind.

I think he would be a great villain to show up for the 3rd film.

Also maybe Dreadknight as a side character would be cool.

Any ideas if Whirlwind was used what kind of design or story would suit him?

:huh::woot:

I think the villians like Whirlwind, Melter, and Unicorn should be avoided. They're not around too much anymore for a reason.

^I agree. Unicorn's just a guy with a laser on his head. WTF? So how would it really be any different if he just had a laser pistol instead? I guess because mounting it on his head is supposed to look cool. Yeah, right. :whatever:
