Well for a reboot he should just be Peter's best friend. They can show off up his tough relationship with his dad. Make it clear that him and Peter have been best friends for a long time

(I'm fairly certain that wasn't a legit casting call so I'm not gonna speculate on Dehaan's, it was posted before the sony hack and has scam written all over it)

If they were to continue with ASM3 or just carry on with Sony then I don't care. They already royally messed up the character in the last film.

For a reboot then I'd have him established from the beginning. TASM2 showed us just how awkward it can be leaving out essential supporting cast when you later come to rely on them in the sequel.

Harry should be Peter's best friend who has issues because Norman is too busy with his work to care about Harry. In each film we see Harry become a darker character until he becomes Spider-Mans enemy. The Raimi films did a great job handling the relationship between Harry and Peter. TASM2 just shoved Harry's transformation into a villain into one movie which is a horrible idea. We should feel sad when we see two former friends battling each other, so when (and if) Harry eventually sacrifices his life to save Peter, there is a great emotional impact. Oh, and Norman should become The Green Goblin before Harry does.
