I finally got the Amazing Spider-Man Collection dvd-rom (40 years of Spider-Man). I was curious to know, since I haven't gotten that far yet, if the Clone Saga stories were part of the "Amazing" title, or from one of the spin-off titles. Also, now that I'm thinking of it, now many Spider-Man (original stories, not movie adaptions) are there? And are they any good?

I'm not sure I really understand your question fully.

The Clone Saga started in Amazing Spider-man and branched out to other Spider-man titles.

The original Clone saga started around ASM #129 (first appearance of the Jackal), but kicked into high gear around ASM #144 and finished with ASM #150.

The second Clone Saga of the 90's kicked at Web of Spider-Man #117, where Peter & Ben meet face to face for the first time... there had been some "mystery man" references a few months prior, but this is where the Clone Saga starts for me... it continues into ASM #394, Spider-Man #51 & Spectacular Spider-Man #217.

And for a complete list of Spider-Man related titles... check out this link.

    Hope this helps...

I think the original Clone Saga went from ASM #141 to ASM #150. The more infamous Clone Saga (which started with Ben Reilly's return) began in Web of Spider-Man #117.

    Edit- Damn! Beaten. =\

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know!

I want to read the entire Clone Saga, so I needed to know what to look for if it wasn't all in "Amazing".

Also, check out the "Official fans of Ben Reily" Thread. In the first page it lists all issues that not only deal with the storyline, but are in any way connected to the clone saga.

Didn't Ben join the New Warriors in NW #62?

Why is issue #67 the only one mentioned?

    Oops, sorry, you're right!

I only put in #67 because I was only putting in the Spider-Man issues of Clone Saga, and #67 was part of a story arc...#59-71 should be in there too. :woot:

Sad thing is you're going to need to get all those in order to understand the clone saga because all 4 Spider-man titles at the time were written as if they were one book, the stories continued in each one. Also, the entire saga is never mentioned in the core books much past Spider-man #75, it's almost as if it never happened, the only series that does deal with it is Spider-girl.

Since the first question has been answered I'll try to answer your second question.

But first I'm a bit confused by the question itself.

It seem that you wasnt to know how many Spiderman stories have been told that have no connection to the movie and if that is your question I dont thik you understand the scope of what your asking.

Spiderman made his first comic book apperance back in 1962 and has had at least 6 different regular ongoing titals [not to mention the canceled ones] that give or take release at least 1 issue every month and sometimes up to at least 3 times a month.

There have been countless mini serries on Spiderman

He has been a member of the group Avengers and is a frequent guest star in almost every comic book that Marvel comic's publish'es.

He has also been part of the countless cross over events in the Marvel comics universe not to mention the cross publisher comics.[exsample DC vr's Marvel]

Spiderman even had a guest apperance in the 3 issue of the very first Transformers comic book.

Spiderman has been the star of at least 5 different cartoons that I can remember and most likely more.

Childern stories and coloring book and activities book stories have been written for Spiderman.

There are a good number of paperback novels about Spiderman.

And Spiderman has had 2 live action tv show's.One in the U.S. and the other in Japan that was very simular to Power Rangers.

I dont think this question of your can really be answered.
