BvS What type of villain do you want?

What type of villain would you prefer for this movie?

  • The one that started out good but due to the story, becomes bad.

  • The one that's already bad for whatever reason.

  • The "necessary evil" "road to hell is paved with good intentions" "ends justifies the means" bad guy

What type of villain would you prefer for this movie?

-The one that started out good but due to the story, becomes bad.

Examples: Two-Face, Darth Vader, Magneto(First Class)

-The one that's already bad for whatever reason

Examples: The Joker, Sebastian Shaw, Megatron
-The one that does bad things for the greater good, the "necessary evil", "road to hell is paved with good intentions" "ends justifies the means" type of bad guy.

Examples: Zod, Ra's Al Ghul, Sentinel Prime

It's a hard decision, but with the Trinity being in this, what type of villain do you think is best for the movie and would make the most sense?

I'm not actually sure I'd know what to pick, i think luthor makes the most logical sense, with some muscle for both superman and batman to deal with.

I would love any of these, really. I agree with Rev above me, but I think with Wonder Woman and Batman involved, we're gonna need something more focused on the elemental and physical than Lex. Lex should be involved somehow though.

Maybe Lex discovers Brainiac and tries to use it? :x

I'm starting to think its going to be a Lex/Ares team up. Ares supplying Lex with technology for his experiments (Metallo, Doomsday, Solomon Grundy, etc) Lex thinks its to protect the planet from another alien attack (and Superman) but Ares is actually warmongering. I could have sworn that before the Bruce girlfriend is Wonder Woman rumor there was a rumor that she was actually Lex's bodyguard/ mistress. Which would make sense if she thinks he's manipulated by Ares.

Any of these would work fine with me, but I'd go with number 3. I've always been intrigued by the villains were you understand where they are coming from.

I voted already evil since Zod was a 'necessary evil' villain, since I would like to see a selfish, despicable villain.

Lex is the obvious choice. MOS left multiple different ways to introduce him. Lex can be the "arrogant selfish" villain with a god complex. I'd use Metallo as the "muscle." John Corben would be a soldier who was crippled during Zod's attack on Metropolis and blames all Kryptonians, including Superman, for his injuries. Luthor turns him into Metallo and manipulates his bitterness to get him to attack Superman. That way Metallo could be a somewhat sympathetic villain, both because of his backstory and being used by Lex, while still being very dangerous and psychotic.

Introduce Luthor now. He needs an arc. We need to see him go from self-appointed savior of Metropolis to crazed, jealous supervillain. The minute he saw Superman he didn't trust him, more so that Superman's demonstrated his abilities and the fact that the only other Kryptonians the planet has seen besides Superman are ones who almost destroyed the entire planet. That plants the seed of mistrust in Lex of Superman. Which then sets us up for Metallo.

Lex finds John Corben on death row, found guilty of murder. Lex offers to buy John's way out of prison in exchange for LexCorp to "enhance" John in certain ways. He agrees, and they proceed with turning him into Metallo. Lex buys pieces of the Kryptonian armor that Zod left behind, discovers slivers of Krypton, now irradiated in our atmosphere, and uses them to build and power Metallo. All in secret.

It sets up Kryptonite but also, more importantly, sets up Lex's undying hatred/jealousy of Superman.

And, since Bruce Wayne/Batman is in the movie, we could get some really cool scenes of Bruce interacting with Lex at, say, a big fundraiser to help rebuild Metropolis. Bruce is mistrustful of Lex and decides to investigate as Batman, which sets up a great scene for Superman and Batman to finally meet. Superman discovers Batman snooping around LexCorp, they tussle a bit, Superman uses his x-ray vision to see Bruce's face, but soon realize they're on the same side. Maybe this is even when Batman shows Superman a piece of Kryptonite that LexCorp has, and even digs deeper to find the Metallo Project.

Great, great possibilities if the villains are Lex and Metallo. It allows the movie to set up a lot of cool stuff for future films while still giving us a good adaptation of Lex and a never before seen on the big screen villain.
