Don't care for Mysterio being in any Spider-Man movie period. It's a CGI nightmare waiting to happen. Not to mention I'm not keen on the character, I don't really want to see smoke and mirror tricks, like a really bad magician.
^imo best combo choice of villains for the sequel
Not necessarily. Depends how they handle the villain.©KAW;24189483 said:That would become the silly CGI nightmare that I speak of.![]()
Only issue I have is the way their names sound and rhyme together. Electro and Mysterio. Next, you'll be telling me that they're teaming up with Oreo.
In what way would they match well together in a movie? Not trying to sound rude, I'm just interested in if you have some ideas in mind.
With Mysterio, you have a chance to put a few different villains on screen (have him post as minor villains that aren't big enough to hold up an entire movie).
Here is some draft for the sequel that I would like to see realized.
Both Mysterio and Electro are interesting villains that deserve to appear on screen. And since the Green Goblin is probably saved for the third film I wouldn't mix him and his story with any other 'bigger' villain.
ASM2:
After the Lizard incident Spider-Man is praised as the hero of the city. Peter continues his relationship with Gwen, while during the nights he further searches for his uncles killer. Suddenly reports come from all around the city that Spider-Man is on a crime spree, robbing banks, hurting innocents, committing all sorts of petty crimes. Daily Bugle takes it to another level in making him the villain with lies and hoax stories. Spider-Man encounters Mysterio who swears to destroy him completely. As trust in the hero begins to fade, Peter is even faced with his darker side when finally encountering his uncles killer. In front of the police Mysterio makes Spider-man look like a cold blooded killer and a new spider-hunt begins. Police, citizens, Mysterio - everyone is against Spider-Man. Even Gwen starts to believe new lies about Captain Stacey's murder that Mysterio and Bugle are presenting. Peter struggles with his choice of being the hero in all the chaos. On top of everything Oscorp presents the new experiment - Electro! A man empowered with pure electricity who would serve as a perfect weapon to stop Spider-Man. But as Electro absorbs more energy he becomes more powerhungry and insane, threatening the world. In the end nothing is as it seemed when Peter finds out that Oscorp's head Norman Osborn hired Mysterio from the beginning orchestrating everything. And when even Mysterio's mind games can't contain Electro it becomes Spider-Man's responsibility to save the city that hates him.

Definitely loving your idea and view on that story arc. It makes that scene on the bridge even more important if Peter stops his search. But it would be very cool to see Peter encountering the killer by cheer chance, and Mysterio using that against him, or Green Goblin to somehow serve the killer to Peter to see what would he do with him, because it would fit his sick nature. I thought that it's better to close that story in the ASM2 and ASM3 to deal more with disappearance of Peter's parents, the gang war and the Goblin.
It's Electro, not Electrio. Electro does not rhyme with Mysterio...
It's the 'o' sound at the end, coupled with the 'r' sound just before it. My point being that they don't sound good together - the end bits don't sound alike enough to have synergy (e.g. Santa's Dancer and Prancer) as a tag team but not unlike one another enough to make it not sound clunky.
I think that when he finds his Uncle's killer, it should be by accident, not due to him searching. Perhaps he finds out he works for the Kingpin or something.I really like this idea. But one thing I don't like is that he still searches his Uncle's killer. I mean, in TASM I felt like he stopped chasing him for a reason. The moment he has saved that little boy on the bridge and sees his father hugging him in relief, he realized that he finally did something for others. In the dinner scene Peter states that he thinks Spider-Man is doing something good for people, but the way he says it makes it look like it's just an excuse justifying his quest for vengeance. And Captain Stacy even states that Spider-man is did more harm than good. After the bridge scene we get the iconic gazing at the mask scene, where Peter is clearly thinking it out. He's realizing what he's becoming and what he SHOULD become, a real hero.
An encounter with the killer would be awesome, but it can happen without Spidey actually looking for him, especially if Mysterio is orchestrating everything. Spidey has learned his lesson and has let go in the first movie, but actually seeing the killer can very much challenge his ideals, especially if he's on the edge from the city hating him
Not to be rude, but I was just posting an idea. Relax.People have suggested this before and I've always hated that idea.
Let's say Mysterio post as Shocker once in a movie, and Vulture in another scene. First of all: where the **** would he get the idea from? Second: what the **** would be the purpose? Third: That would be like saying "**** you!" to Spider-Man's rogue list, downplaying them like that.
It's one thing to let Mysterio make a hologram or something of a villain that Spidey met before. But having Mysterio pose as villains not used before on the big screen would be ridiculous. It would make sense to have Mysterio trick Spidey that Lizard is back in the sewers or something, just to lead him into a trap (actually that would be kinda cool). But having Shocker appear out of nowhere, just to be a Mysterio trick, would make no sense at all.
Not to be rude to you or anything, but I've read this suggestion sometimes and I always get kinda irritated at how people seem to post that idea without second thoughts. It would be for a cool action scene, but it would make no sense at all and feel like a cheap way to sell toys. Sounds familiar, eh? Yeah, that's the thing many of you actually complain about Avi Arad doing. Had he gone with your idea of having Mysterio pose as new villains, he would get accused of just wanting to sell toys (which would also probably be true). That's why it feels annoying when posters here come up with such an idea.
That would be very tragic, yes. But isn't it supposed to be. That is Gwen's fate as we all know. And shouldn't it be done justice..? I think when it's inevitable better to prolong it, and have the character for two more films, to connect with her even more. I think it's to early to introduce Norman and have the Goblin in the sequel. Just because it's supposed to be such a turning point in Peter's life. Also continuing the story with MJ for part three and ending the franchise will do no one's justice.. It would seem all crammed up and hurried. I want to see at this franchise as a continuous one. Develop Gwen even more in part 2 and 3. Introduce Jameson and Norman (as a much bigger threat than just a generic villain who becomes a regular lunatic). They should introduce MJ and Harry as supporting characters in the third film, and when this chapter of Peter's life is finished then someone may continue the story. They should leave it with an open ending, like the Dark Knight trilogy. Yes, time changes, actors change but story needs to be continued. Raimi's films suffered from that greatly in my opinion. Because they didn't have a story to hold on to as a franchise. It was all about a girl and it stayed that way, but even at the end that didn't matter and it all fell apart. This starting point with Amazing Spider-Man is a solid start. There are lots of things to be yet resolved, characters who we connect to, a much grounded universe that can be explored.
