I really hope they do a better portrayal of Green Goblin in this series than the first Raimi Spider-Man movie. He was too cartoony in SM1, and Spider-Man's archenemy deserves better. He should be far more threatening and menacing, and far less hammy.

I don't see the love of making JJJ creator of a villain, sure he did it once in the comics, but in the first stories doctor connor wasn't peter's teacher, he didn't even know him.
I like JJJ as he is and i don't want to see him as a threat

Scorpion, the natural enemy of a spider, could work in a movie - what with him being hired as a P. I. by Jonah to find out the secret identity of Spider-Man and going after him. Jonah is burdened by the realization that his hatred for Spider-Man has caused him to unleash something even more vile upon the city. Jonah and Spidey reluctantly work together to stop Scorpion in order to keep him from killing Jonah.

I don't think it's terrible. I'd love to see New York vs. Spider-Man where Jameson is determined to take down Spider-Man and enlists the help of Scorpion, only he then goes after Jameson. It would be a much better idea than Smythe creating his own suit and running around as both Rhino and Scorpion, as you've suggested.

It just think that JJJ creating the Scorpion would make the Scorpion the main villain,and I don't see him ever being the main villain.And instead of a scientist creating him (we don't need scientists creating every villain),why not have some original ways to create a villain by making him a hitman and the hitman's gun is his Iron Man type suit.

Plus it's a way to quickly see two of spidey's classic rogues and give them a good backstory without giving them the whole movie to do it in.

Chameleon/Kraven

The movie opens in a museum as we see spidey stealing a valuable artifact.The alarms go off as security guards are shooting at spidey as spidey takes them out.

On the rooftop spidey runs ito spidey.The thief ends up being the Chameleon.Spidey tells him that he has been looking fo him for awhile now,that this character has been smearing his good name by commiting crimes while looking like him.

The Chameleon says that's the plan,and the two fight.Spidey unmasks him in the fight and spidey sees that this imposter is the crime lord that spidey has always been stoping.The Chameleon gets away.

The city wants the mayor to use all of their resources to capture spidey since the city has been fooled thinking that spidey is now a villain.

A scene with the Chameleon in his office watching the news is happy.The Chameleon has worked so hard to stop spidey and now he feels like he has done it.

A new game show has came to town to make some money off of spider-man.This game show is called "Kraven's Last Hunt".The host Sergei Kravinoff is Kraven as he has cameras watch him as he hunts for the wall crawler.

Norman Osborn has used Sergei Kravinoff as a guinea pig as he has injected him with Goblin serum,a few weapons,and has funded this game show so he can see how well Kraven will do against spidey.

Mac Gargan could be interesting, and I'm sure that they could make his suit work on the big screen FX-wise. He's compelling enough as the sole villain.

What I don't understand is how you can't picture Scorpion as the main villain, yet you can see Smythe, of all of the villains, as the main villain. Smythe turning into Rhino and later Scorpion wouldn't be enough, not to mention it's just terrible writing.

They better have a damn good reason why the Daily Bugle editor is helping to finance such an experiment to create a man Scorpion if they go that route other than "Spiderman is a threat to the city and I hate him".

Not to mention, you can't expect fans of Spider-Man to support a movie where a guy like Smythe puts on a Rhino-like suit and thus is Rhino, or puts on a Scorpion-like suit and thus is Scorpion. It also makes no sense how you explain it's a way to quickly see two of Spidey's rogues when actually it's just Smythe dressed in two different suits during the movie. The same guy wearing two different suits doesn't equal two different villains. Basically, your idea for the third film of Rhino, Scorpion, and Smythe is just really Smythe.

I must admit that I wanna see more of Spidey as the misunderstood hero. In Raimi's series,Spidey was obviously a hero. The fact that JJ kept on claiming he was a villain was rather silly. Maybe in the first film people might be a bit suspicious about what his intentions are,but by Spider-man 2 it should've been obvious to everyone in NY that Spidey was no criminal. I'd like to see this new series make Spidey's intentions a bit more blurry. Like,maybe the first few times when he tries to be the hero,he messes up and ends up causing more harm than good.

Man, you are so right. It was an idiotic angle. Especially by the time the third movie comes along and the entire city has embraced him after saving the daughter of the police captain by throwing a huge parade JJJ still wants his photographers Peter and Eddie to catch Spidey committing crimes when Sandman was obviously the one police was after. Dumb, Dumb, and Dumber.

That JJJ was a joke anyways as he had absolutely no reason to hate him in the first place and his sentiment lasted three movies.

I didn't say Smythe would be the main villain,he would of been a minor villain in the beginning of the movie.And for him turning into Scorpion and then Rhino is because they are robotic armor suits,like Tony Stark's Iron Man suits are.

I just re-read your idea for the third film, and Smythe is clearly the main villain. Rhino and Scorpion aren't even in it, they're actually just names of suits that Smythe wears. Seriously, that's not three villains. That's the same guy wearing more than one suit, which would make Smythe the only villain in the movie. This just keeps sounding worse and worse and worse and worse and worse.

It says that Smythe is a hired hitman and his rifle is his robotic armor suit,the Scorpion.Smythe fights spidey with the suit that is like a 5 minute fight.His Scorpion robotic armor suit is damaged during the fight,so he retreats.

Spidey slipped a spidey tracer on it and when Smythe gets out of his Scorpion armor suit his alarms go off and he sees on the monitor that spidey is the intruder.

So Smythe runs over to another robotic armor suit,this one known as the Rhino.This fight last for like 2 minutes.

His scene all happens for the first 15 minutes of the movie.So he isn't the main villain.Doc Ock would be the main villain.Do you know how to read?

I would love to see some more menacing villains in the next series. Look at Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight: Hannibal Lector and Anton Chigurh couldn't hold a candle to his menace. Why can't any of Spider-Man's villains be that terrifying?
