What was the last movie you watched? Part 2

The return of quality spoof comedies and hopefully a sign of more good stuff to come with Scary Movie and Spaceballs making their return pretty soon as well. Neeson was such a great pick to lead this but Pamela Anderson and Danny Huston also surprised me with their strong supporting roles.

This was definitely the most I've laughed during a film in a while and I hope we get more films in this franchise because this was a strong start IMO.

Oppenheimer (2023)

Fantastic. My interest drifted at times as I think 10-20m could’ve been trimmed, nevertheless really enjoyable. Tremendous acting from Murphy, Blunt & Downey. The ending (last 5m) with Ludwig Gorannson’s score playing was one of the best endings to a movie I’ve ever seen!

Murphy was phenomenal, particularly when portraying Oppenheimer ruminating or imagining things. And it was cool seeing a large talented cast sprinkled throughout the movie.

This started out pretty strong and I was really enjoying the cat and mouse chase aspect between the two leads but the third act of this film was super ridiculous IMO even for a horror film but it's well acted/made.

An interesting low budget indie horror flick that's technically well made and well acted but unfortunately I found myself kind of bored by this one for the most part. I will say though that there are like 2 or 3 fairly gruesome scenes that were really effective and if the movie had more stuff like that I probably would have enjoyed it atleast somewhat more.

This wasn't good but I really liked the forest location they utlized and the second half of this movie was pretty entertaining in an almost unintentionally hilarious way. I'm a sucker for cannibal flicks but this didn't even have much in terms of satisfying gore scenes and way too much bad/cheap CGI at times.

A pretty decent French body horror flick. The last 10-20 minutes is pretty insane and it definitely creeped me out a couple of times but I also liked that at its core it's basically a romance and honestly that's probably the strongest aspect of the movie.

Fight or Flight!

Kinda like Bullet Train, only more violent and insane, Josh Hartnett and Sharithra Chandran really knock it out of the park with their fun characters. Lots of great fight sequences and just an overall cool and positive vibe to it, with heroes you want to root for. Highly recommend buying or renting this one on your streaming platform tonight.
