What was the last movie you watched? Part 2

Haha I botched the original post meant for this thread. Anywho...

I'll always love this movie and it's held up extremely well over the years. Insane to think it's been 16 years since it was released.

As much as I'd like to see more of Sam, I'd also be okay if this doesn't ever get a sequel. But, if that happens, I really hope Dougherty sticks to his guns and doesn't really dive into his origins. I'm all for more of this character as long as his mystique is left intact while weaving interesting stories around/involving him.

Lake Mungo

A deeply haunting horror film that will appeal to documentary obsessives. While it can get a bit stale at times in the first half, I thought they did a great job committing to the documentary format and keeping it pretty authentic while adding some found footage horror flourishes. It's definitely not a movie for those who find the Ken Burns Zoom effect on a creepy/blurred image not scary enough. It's simply an effective horror mockumentary that takes a look inside grief and loss and turns it into something more haunting. You can see why someone like Mike Flanagan thought this was a masterpiece. Overall, I really dug it, it's one that really stays with you when you get to the end of this.

THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957) Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Hazel Court, and Robert Urquhart. The first of the HAMMER Frankenstein movies. Cushing is the obsessed doctor, Lee is the creature (under horrific make-up), and Court is the cousin/fiancee that gets in the way. Excellent little horror film

THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1958) Peter Cushing, Michael Gwynn, Eunice Gayson, Francis Matthews, and Lionel Jeffries. Picking up where the first movie ended, the presumed dead Dr. Frankenstein has set up practice in another country under the name of Stein. Gwynn plays a less horrific looking creature. the doctor performs a Brain transplant on a deformed man....things go awry.

THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN (1964) Peter Cushing, Peter Woodthorp, Duncan Lamont, and Kiwi Kingston. On the run again, Dr. Frankenstein returns to his home town to continue his work on the original creature (even though it is now played by professional wrestler Kiwi Kingston and is in completely different make up), but a crooked con artist/hypnotist upsets his plans.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch

I always forget to watch Season of the Witch on the 23rd because of "Eight More Days Until Halloween" but not this year! As always, it's still a banger and it's still one of the best Halloween movies to put you into the mood for Halloween. It's still something of note that this is pretty much the last movie that had almost everybody from Carpenter's original film crew all working on it (Debra Hill, John Carpenter, Tommy Lee Wallace, and Dean Cundey). I've lost count of how many times I've rewatched this but it always takes me back to the first time the moment they played the opening credits. Overall, forever an icon.
